Went there with a couple of co-workers on a Friday and we were having fun, chatting, drinking and eating and then suddenly a DJ showed up and started playing music. We couldn't get a sentence out and all we heard was noise from the speakers....I get it, it's a Friday night, but no one was dancing to the music, and a lot of the tables beside us were yelling so they could understand eachother. It was unnecessary which is a shame cause everything else especially service was greatMore

It is one of those destinations :) in Malta that I do not visit often but each time I go there I keep telling myself that I should visit it more frequently. It is a great place to relax, have a bite or a proper...meal and stare at the beautiful view sipping a nice cocktail. The fish and chips is just divine! Some time ago the waiting stuff seemed a bit careless but it looks like the owners have listened to the feedback as the staff is amazing now! It has been wonderful & pleasant experience, impeccable service from the waitresses & mouth watering food ! Thank you ! ⭐️More

Visited here a few times as it was the local pub to where we were staying. Decent size portions, fresh hot food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Cocktails were yummy, worked my way through the daiquiri drinks, they were all made fresh and the other...half had a variety of tasty cocktails. Great DJ set and atmosphere. Beautiful views out to sea. Helpful and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our visits, a must when attending the area.More

Drinks Yes Food No, The Londoner is in a great position that overlooks the fountains and the sea, should you wish to sit outside without shade in the 38 degree sun. We sat in the shade with other customers but then you had to miss...the beautiful views. The Staff were friendly and very attentive. What you cannot do is exchange things on the menu. We don’t like Mash on our lunch and asked for fries instead. They provided this service at an extra cost. Ok we will swallow that! Now the food . I had the Guinness Pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy. The chips are raved about on their web site, they were not great. Low grade potatoes must have been used as they had lots of black bits. Gravy and mushy pies were excellent! The Guinness pie was burnt and needed a hammer to crack it open. Worse still hidden amongst my food was a long hair about 8 inches long. We didn’t eat this lunch and had to go elsewhere. This is a good place for drinks at a good price but 53 Euro for food I would throw away? Would we go there again. No 4/10 time to get the inspectors in here!More

This restaurant is definitely under rated. Food disastrous, inexperience foreign staff. This restaurant needs to upgrade to it’s original name and service as it was before. Sorry

Had lunch today. Got told they were fully but did get a table, we left about an hour after arriving and it still wasn’t busy? I had starter of fish bites & fries. Was supposed to be cod? Don’t know what it was but definitely...not cod pieces.....minced fish isn’t cod bites..... fries was good. Hubby had chicken pie. Pastry was very thick , stodgy, filling good with the extra gravy, mash potatoes cold.....sorry guys but don’t get any points from me.More

The first round of drinks took 45minutes to arrive. The food arrived 15minutes afterwards and the starters were given at the same time as the main course. The music was too loud to speak with the person right next to you. I expect much better...for the price.More

Great Cocktail Happy Hour - if you enjoy cocktails this is the place to go from 15.00 to 19.00 - buy one get one free - every day.As you would expect it gets very busy Saturday and Sunday. Many of the cocktails look and taste...like a dessert - they will not disappoint. Worth the trip to Smart City.More

Having been to the area previously for a staff party, and being not too far from the office, another night out was organized for a farewell party. On this occasion we decided on The Londoner, which I'd noticed on our previous visit to Smart City....Anyway, we turned up and had a table in the annex(?) area opposite the pub entrance. Decor and setup more lounge than pub (in a good way!). Also big screen so you can watch whatever's being broadcast. When we arrived, Happy Hour was in effect (can't argue with that), so cocktails it was. The average cocktail was about €7, so worked out at €3.50. Back in Ireland, a basic G&T would set you back at least €6! One of our group was drinking beer and, apart from the beer on tap, they seemed to have a decent selection of bottled brews. The Barman and the rest of the staff were all very friendly and efficient, and the service was faultless. We ordered various dishes from the menu, with me going for (predictably) a burger). Finally had a burger that didn't give me anything to really complain about. It was cooked just under medium, and was a pretty decent size. It was topped with fried cheese and crispy bacon, very nice thanks! It came with a big portion of fries and a small side of coleslaw. A few others also went for a burger, whilst others had Fisn n' Chips. I don't remember anyone having any complaints. Following the meal, a few of us appropriated one of the sofa areas for drinks and a chat. By now Happy Hour was over (until 19.00, I think), so we reverted to "normal" drinking. Again, couldn't complain with the prices. A round of 2 JD/coke and 2 Bombay G&T came to €11. All in all a very nice evening. Finally left at around 01.00, and more than a little drunk, but very content. Can recommend for a decent night out, whether you want just drinks, or food as well. I imagine it would be even better during summer, due to its location right by the sea. In the words of Arnie....."I'll be back"!More

We visit this place on average every quarter. Food is always great. The pub feel with large TVs all around creates the expected vibe. The Restaurant has an amazing sea view and is just on top of the most amazing fountain on the island which...dances to the music (unless too windy). The place is also very well covered with waiting staff constantly roaming but discrete. You do not need to do a scavenger hunt or wave your hand until your shoulder dislodges :) to get the attention of staff, as it happens in so many restaurants and stores now a-days. This times round we had fish and Chips (large, tasty and cooked perfectly), Westy Burger (not sure I got spelling right). Great burger with a unique sweet and salty taste which includes a hint of peanut butter and bacon strips. It is probably a new addition to the menu as it does not feature on the online Menu. And a full rack of spare ribs. It was good but it was not the best ribs we ever had. As for drinks we had 2 Coke and a Kinnie (traditional Maltese soft drink). The problem with the drinks. They were not carbonated at all. These soft drink fountains at restaurants and bars today hardly ever get the balance right. We were not going to raise this. My son and I would still drink it, but my wife would not. The Manager passed by and asked if all was fine. We pointed out that the drinks were not carbonated. He apologised, took all drinks, even though my son and I had drank more than have the pint ordered, and replaced them with proper carbonated drinks. He also ensured to pass by again a little later to check on us. No is perfect, but admitting a mistake and resolving it says a lot.More
