Excellent full English Breakfast! Very hard to beat with friendly staff and comfortable eating. The "Book" part of the name is a good second-hand upstairs. On my sixth visit and highly recommend The Cook Book.

The food here is great (though the cake choice not especially inspiring) - filled up the tummies of two hungry cyclists. A lovely little café with pleasant staff and art and books.

The Cook Book feels like a place that is perfect for tea, and it has fresh baked scones that were the best I tasted in England - the real thing! We were actually there for lunch, but the scones in their bins near the entrance...More

We had just walked back from Cape Cornwall and came upon The Cook Book. Lovely place for a reviving bite to eat and drink. I had the "small" 3 Cornish cheese salad (they do a large version but the small was more than adequate) and...More

Excellent breakfast and good coffee and cakes. Dogs especially welcome as are children. Poetry and books in general are a special attraction.

I love returning to this cafe, upstairs are wonky floored rooms with catagorised interesting seconds hand books.

We chanced upon this little cafe that doubles a second hand book shop. Excellent selection of books, average coffee but very tasty bites to eat. Whiled away a happy 3/4 of an hour in the sunshine.

Fantastic food selection with an array of options for take away picnics, hampers etc. The all day breakfast looks epic! The 'side salad' is extensive. Brilliant place we will surely return each year on our annual visit!
