Our visits to Pebbles have always been outstanding. The atmosphere, the service and especially the food, always great. The frozen foods, however, are a complete disappointment. We purchased 4 frozen dinners for my elderly parents only to learn that they were not good. The 2...slices of beef in the roast beef dinners were dry and bland. There was no gravy on the meat. The broasted chicken dinners contained a wing, a piece of back and a leg.....overpriced and poor quality. We are very disappointed and will never buy their frozen food again.More

We received many recommendation for Pebbles when we were camping in Mount Forest but it didn’t make the grade. Perhaps the changes where the buffet is no longer a serve yourself option contributed to our poor experience, but we found the food bland and cold....The restaurant was gorgeous and had a homey Amish feel to it but the food was cold, bland and very expensive. For 2 adults and 2 children (who ordered from the buffet but only ate 1 plate) our bill was 125.00. Even when I mentioned to the server the girls didn’t like the food and only ate 1 plate (which was an Ofer option for 18.00) she still charged us for the adult buffet. The saving grace was the broasted chicken which was very nice as well as the fresh made dinner rolls and pie. Overall a very disappointing experience and not recommended. Hopefully this was an isolated experience, but I can’t see us returning or recommending future visits.More

Stopped for lunch at about 1:00. Not too busy, which was our plan. The Mennonite staff is very friendly and they've adjusted to the Covid protocols. Known for their all you can eat buffet they now bring you menu slips where you select what you...want and the hostesses will fill your plate and return it to you. We felt quite safe with this scenario. The food was delicious and we will be returning.More

Stopped in for a chicken lunch. We had been here previously for the buffet over the past few years... but due to Covid everything has changed. This business has adapted very well and made sure the quality of the food and the service has not...suffered. Excellent all around. The chicken was hot and tasty... the fries were great. The service from the moment we drove up into the drive thru was efficient and accurate. We received our order and sat at the picnic table..... very good all around.... I just thought to myself this is a business that could have folded under due to the current covid circumstances but no they adapted to this changing situation. Congrats on staying the course and creating a successful business... We will he back. Thank youMore

Great family friendly Mennonite buffet restaurant. Lots of variety from chicken, pork and beef dishes to salads and an awesome selection of delightful deserts. Well worth the trip to Varney.

Beautiful building, love the cozy decor. The buffet had so many great options and it was all delicious. Service was fast and good. Great stop on the way home from a northern getaway.

Have visited four or five times since the renovations. Always the food has been excellent - hot things were hot and the salad bar was cold as they should be. However the water is always delivered with a black plastic-looking straw unless you specifically ask...to "skip the straw". I have mentioned this to the cashier on various visits and have been told "I'll pass this on to the management", "as soon as our supply runs out we will be switching", and "they are really biodegradable". They sure look like black plastic! Could I suggest the following: Most restaurants only supply straws of any kind if they are requested. When the current supply runs out, paper straws would avoid the appearance of using plastic. Even biodegradable (if they are) leave a residue in the environment.More
