We went here last night for a meal as it had been recommended. On arrival we asked for a table and the waitress looked a bit worried and said that they were stopping taking orders at 8.45pm. As it was only 8.30pm I wasn't sure why she pointed this out to us. We were sat in the back room which... More
Sorry if you didn't feel welcomed, as you can see by the majority of our reviews we always offer a warm welcome to our guests. I think the young waitress in question is still learning so she probably gave you more information than was required. You ordered 2 well done burgers which take a while to cook due to the... More
We recently visited for the first time, and after its major refurbishment – we had driven past many times in the past. The premises from a customer perspective are excellent, good car park with several areas of outdoors seating plus a children’s playground plus a secluded garden area. Inside, the internal décor is of a soothing style and I am... More
Thank you for your review. I always say to my customers, "rather too much than not enough." There are plenty of lighter dishes on the menu. Most of our starters make great light bites. The cobb salad, Mackerel, Ham hock, pear salad and were always more than happy to give more salad and less chips or even no chips at... More
I have been to the peacock many times and you are greeted by all the staff on every occasion by a wonderful warm welcome. Lovely beer garden at the back and a fantastic menu to choose light bites or perhaps a meal for a special occasion. Just as special in the evening by the wonderful lit fires - pop in... More
Thank you for your lovely review Poppy, I'm glad you popped in. I think you have summed up very nicely what the Peacock is all about. We're all looking forward to the next time you pop in. And tell Mr Scattergood it's a while since we've seen him... Tim T More
We went on a Monday night which is 'steak night' and it looked super value for money. However none of our party partook of the steaks. Two of us had the halibut which was delicious and I would defiantly recommend it when it's on, not on any special menu so not the cheapest dish at around the £20.00 mark but... More
Thank you for your great review of the Peacock. Steak night is a good deal and we are usually very busy. I'm pleased you enjoyed your fish dish. The wine was a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc called The Cloud Factory a bit of a favourite with us here as well. Hopefully see you soon. Tim T More
The building has obviously been renovated . This is to a high standard . Looks nice . Plenty of room on and around the table . Access for my elderly parents ( 86 & 88 ) was good . The good was very good , hot and efficient service . Friendly staff. Overall very good . Steve b
Thank you for your review. I'm pleased we ticked all of your boxes. My staff were happy that you appreciated the service. More
Had fish and chips which was a whale size portion! Great chips. Not a great deal of menu choice on a Sunday, perhaps different on other days but what we had was tasty and good portions. Nice bar selection. Good wines if wish, real ales, different soft drinks. Comfy seating and cushions which I love to help my bad back!... More
Thanks for your review. We do run a different menu Monday- Saturday. Sunday lunch gets very very busy so we try to limit the size of the menu. I'm glad you enjoyed your fish and chips. I'm with you on the cushions being a fellow bad back sufferer. Tim T More
Unplanned visit for lunch. Walked in and received such a warm welcome. The interior is stunning and so is the garden and children's play area. Washrooms are finished to a high standard and the whole place has a fantastic feel. Food was delicious! Soup / prawn starter, sausage and mash/ suet pudding. Amazing. We are already planning when we will... More
Thank you for your great review of the Peacock. It's very rewarding to get such good feed back from our guests especially when we are busy and the weather is warm. As with the main menu the children's menu is also prepped fresh to order. And you are very welcome. Tim T More
My fiancée and I randomly came across the peacock inn after booking our wedding venue. As we walked in we got a warm friendly welcome which continued throughout our lunch the place is stunning the food was just amazing! A simple must visits if you pass the place I implore you to stop.
What a super review. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your visit. All the best and congrats on your forthcoming wedding. Tim T More
Not a great summer menu as choices are heavy. Had the salad which was fairly average for £12.00 (one of the more expensive mains). Unfortunately seems to be one of these pubs with daft shaped and sized plates for the food that is being served on them. Don't get me wrong, food wasn't bad, you just hope for better when... More
Thank you for your review. Our new summer menu will be running as from the 6th of August. There will be plenty to suit all. I wasn't aware of any "daft shape plates" as we use round pasta bowls for salads and flat round plates for main courses. I'm glad your meal "wasn't bad" as we do try to make... More
