Had a return trip for lunch at The Pandy on Sunday with 2 friends and she who must be obeyed. Have to say normal service received with lovely establishment, excellent service by the very friendly staff and great lunch of half a large chicken and chips for 3 and a smashing poached salmon and prawn salad for me. All this... More

We visited this little Gem whilst house hunting in the area. As soon as we walked in we were very warmly welcomed by the staff and also other guests at the bar. We had lunch , Scampy , chips and salad. Very good food and portion size we were certainly not hungry after our meal. The pub is dog friendly... More

Dear house hunters! Thank you for your kind review. I'm so pleased you'd consider making us your local if you found a property and moved to the area! I have to apologise as I forgot to get that piece of cheese for your lovely pup. I'm afraid we got to chatting about the area and yourselves and it went clear... More

No starters available. No table service so my husband spent half the night queuing at the bar, even to order food. Service was poor, I ordered lasagne with chips and a side order of garlic bread. But the garlic bread was given to us as a starter. The waitress did not bring my husbands steak sauce. When we reminded her... More

Dear smd3103, Thank you for taking the time to place your review of our pub. I'm dreadfully sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. I'm sorry that you got the wrong impression of our pub, you're quite right, we don't provide table service as this establishment is a pub and we dont pretend to be anything else. This was clearly not... More

Visited this pub and enjoyed a very good evening meal. There is not a full prepared menu, but a list of Specials on a chalk board. A very interesting choice from which to select. A good range of real ales, lagers and wines. Good atmosphere and plenty of tables. Very good service from friendly staff. Outside, there is a lawn... More

Dear Michael, Many thanks for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and everything we have to offer. We've tried hard to get things right but also keep things fresh, so I'm delighted with your reference to the chalk board, ales, lagers and wines. Our staff are great, I have to wholeheartedly agree, and I'll pass on your... More

Seems to be the beating heart of the town/village of Dorstone. Not fussy but simply good pub food in a building which claimed to have been started in 1185, plus 5 en suite rooms in an eco-friendly timber lodge.

Dear Robin, Thank you for reviewing The Pandy Inn. We're proud to be an integral part of our community and it's good to know you experienced that and enjoyed the food. The lodge you mentioned is indeed lovely but is run as a separate business. Hopefully we'll be able to welcome you back here again in the future. Kind regards,... More

We were staying in Dorstone for three nights and The Pandy was very near to where we were staying so decided to stay near to eat on the first night. It was so friendly and the food was great we ended up there the next night as well and were not disappointed!

Always interested in good food and real ale and the Pandy fitted the bill on both counts. Well placed at the head of the Golden Valley it was an attractive and ancient pub with a tidy garden. The beer was interesting (which helps) and the lunchtime food very good and promptly served. I look forward to visiting for an evening... More

We were staying near by and decided to go to this pub as it was close. It's was great including for the kids, who could have smaller portions of the meals rather than a separate kids menu. Nice home cooked food. Friendly staff who were very welcoming. Good atmosphere with character.

We went here for dinner, while staying in the area, after reading many good reviews. We were certainly not disappointed, if anything it exceeded expectations. Not the widest choice of dishes, but really well cooked and served: Great puds too . A really enjoyable evening, from start to finish. We will certainly go back - maybe even tomorrow. Thank you... The pub is old and has been furnished making no pretensions to fine dining - the menu is on a chalk board. So it's a proper English rural pub experience. The greeting from the landlady and her staff makes you feel at home and the locals drinking at the bar are welcoming too. We had steaks and all agreed that... More
