I have visited this place twice in the recent week. So I think I can give an accurate review.
At first, the service was incredibly slow, despite the place was not even full.
We have ordered a street food-style burger with pulled meat. It was...OK. Too much cabbage to be honest.
The fish and chips were good. We had to wait 45 minutes. I think that is way too much.
For the second time, I was hoping that I will have a better experience.
I was wrong.
We sat down and after 7-10 min I had to ask the waiter to give us a menu so we can order. Full disclosure: the restaurant was not full at all.
Anyway, based on our previous experience once we got the menu I have immediately ordered the drinks as well as the entrees.
Fish and chips again but, at this time it was bad. On the menu, it is advertised as Zander but surely it was made from some other kind of fish. We had ordered duck but that caused heavy diarrhea for my wife later that night... :(
The service was slow again.
The place has a lot of potentials. Great location. Nice building and environment.
I wish the food and the service would be better. Missed opportunities.More
Without reserving a table and arriving at peak hours, we got a table for three. All the dishes we tried were fine, and the service was attentive and relatively fast compared to the full house of dinner time. Recommended.
We stayed in Hegykő for 2 nights and we had lunch in the restaurant on both days.
On the 1st of May they offered pulled beef in ciabatta during the open air May festival. It was an excellent choice. Next day we had buffalo sausage...for lunch which was also very tasty. Oh, and do not miss the strudel, it is also very yummy! I can only recommend the place! Great staff, great hospitality, great taste!More
For dinner, we went to Tornácos Restaurant from the Marben Pension, where a restaurant was closed due a lack of qualified staff.
Stylishly decorated interior with christmas decoration, plenty of seating, a choice of salad bar, outdoor covered terrace is definitely a lot of bikers...in the summer. Comfortable toilets in the basement without access for wheelchair users.
The menu offered a good selection of soups, main dishes and desserts. Hungarian aperitifs didn´t make a mistake. Soups very tasty and hearty for example Grandmother's soup pot with meat, noodles and vegetables, as well as the main dishes which we tried: Roasted chicken breast filled with ham, cheese and peas in Tornácos style, served with steamed rice and French fries, Roasted pork fillet with green crumbs and rocket tomato gnocchi, Beef perkelt with homemade gnocchi with chives, Paprika catfish served with cottage cheese noodles, bacon and cream.
The staff is friendly, but after a note that you must wait 45 minutes for a meal, you lose your taste ...
It seems that due to the lack of skilled workers in the kitchen could help some waiters...More
This is a nice surprise restaurant with pastry shop near Fertőd. The enterior is friendly, clean & familiar, the waiters are friendly, the kitchen is very good. We got served quickly, the dishes were delicious and huge. We bought from their pastry chestnut heart to...take away, which was also a very good choice.More
We came here for dinner from nearby hotel, as we did not like the food of hotel restaurant.
We came Friday evening (cca 6pm) and we think we got the seat only because the waiter did not speak good english and was not able to...send us away - we understood later, they are fully booked by the guests of the pension.
We took only halaszle, not to bother them too much. The soup itself was delicious, thick and gently spicy. There was plenty of meet from different types of fish. Here I did not like all of them (some pieces were quite hard), but my husband (good in cooking personally) says that it is all right.
Generally we would come back if this will be on our way.More
