great food, even better staff. this is what is expected in Istria. prices are ok, pasta with truffles, pijat rockih glagoljasa for two, two desserts, two beers, coca cola all about 420 kuna. home made brandy was on the house. highly recommended.
I had read the reviews here and on Trip Advisor prior to my trip to Istria and I knew I wanted to try this place out. Well, the reviews, the food, the town all exceeded my expectations. We were one our way to Zagreb from...Motovun and this place was right on our way. I'm so glad we ate lunch here. I would definitely eat here again and I highly recommend this place.More
4.5⭐️ Placed in the picture-perfect city of Roč, this konoba is beautiful and delicious. The outdoor and interiors are authentic, and it adds up to a wonderful atmosphere.
They have the 2nd best homemade bread in Istria! Make sure to try the house prosciutto alongside...olive oil. Along with the bread, my favorite thing here is the homemade pasta. Especially the truffle ravioli, stuffed with different cheeses, even though I would prefer a bit more cheese inside. Pijat Ročkih Glagoljaša, a mixed plate for two persons, is a unique and an excellent opportunity to try various foods. Skuta with walnuts and honey was a decent dessert. The staff and the owner are friendly, kind, and fast. Next time I must try the specialty — ribs. Unfortunately, they ran out of it my last time there. The last time we also had the sausages, cabbage, and gnocchi with beef goulash, which was all delicious! All in all, when in Istria you must visit!More
Great small local restaurant, in a small town in Istria... wondefull ambient, extra service. And the food? Well... one of the best lunch ever... fritaja with white truffels for starter, spare ribs with sauce from local wine Malvazija and palenta... and for desert... well local...cheese with local honey and nuts with coeffe creame...More
Went for a dinner, coming straight from the trip and highway. Ročka konoba was a delight, for which it would be worth to sit all day in a traffic jam.
Apetisers - my wife had domestic fried cheese, I had a "fritaja" with white truffle....Can't tell what was better, both was excellent. But only an intro to the maincourse - different pastas (lasagnoti and raviolli) with home made, fresh cheese, pancetta and white truffle that was just in the season. If you like truffles, pasta and cheese, your mind will be blown off. Perfect!
Only thing that could be a bit better is the wine. I am sure there are better wines to be found nearby.
All in all, Ročka konoba is an apsolute must when going to Istra.More
We had a delightful evening in the Rocka konoba. The pulled pork with truffles was delicious and the wine was great. The place is very romantic, calm and designed in every detail. They even have a rakhia shop right next to the restaurant where you...can try out various homemade spirits. Definitely a gem you have to visit!More
Stopped here for lunch on our way to Rijeka. We started with the scrambled eggs with truffles on toast. Wow! We also ordered the fuzz and ravioli with truffles. Everything was so delicious and our server was super friendly and attentive.
The place itself is amazing, the menu as well. We ate istrian plate which was totally delicious, all ingrediants, from prosciutto to pickled zucchini, were domestic, home made and incredibly tasteful. Highly recommend!
A cozy restaurant located in a fairytale-like peaceful little Istrian town. The owners and waiters are very pleasant and hospitable. They make their own traditional pasta and don’t skimp on freshly grated truffles. They also have a store where they sell home made goods such...as biska (Istrian distilled alcoholic beverage), olive oil and jewelry. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service.More
