French Danish family from Vejen. We invited my French parents for a birthday celebration. They were very impressed. Great service, nice atmosphere (not too sophisticated, just nice). We had three kids with us who got special treats. Food was really good, portions are large and...we got extraordinary appetizers (for free). Wine was very good too. We will come back.More
We had a family dinner in the cosy and nicely decorated "Herregardskælder", i.e. in the basement of the old and very beautifully renovated main building to the old estate, today a museum situated in the countryside between farmland, a little lake, a stream and the...forest. The great surroundings and decor added to the experience and nicely framed a great evening out with our family.
The food was very well prepared and very tasty, the style is semi modern french inspired cooking and there is plenty of food at an absolutely fair price. A fine selection of wines also at very fair prices. The staff was busy however very kind and focused on delivering a top level service experience with a smile. I very much recommend this restaurant and we definetely will go there again.More
We keep coming here for the special occasions - because it is quite a gem... a little castle hidden out in the country-side and a restaurant down in the basement, where the kitchen used to be.
Always high quality food and super taste experiences.
Prices...are really reasonable compared the the high level of food. Can hardly recommend it too much - make sure to book table in advance.More
This is a little gem! Located in the old cellar under the castle Sønderskov is this small, but very capable restaurant. The food is excellent, serving sizes very (!) generous, and the pricing seems fair. There is a focus on using local produce.
The cellar...has been carefully restored and must be one of the cosiest places to eat in the country. If you come by these parts, stop by. It's open for lunch and dinner.More
