OMG - this place is awesome. Eight of us went to celebrate a friend's birthday. From the easy ferry ride to the "booked" shuttle bus we arrived at this Restaurant/Winery on a beautiful sunny autumn day. The long lunch was not rushed and not too too much although very adequate. I was a pain for the Chef because I have... More

It's quite a mission to go if coming from Auckland and it's a whole day event but what a lovely day including ferry rides, shuttles and back country roads. But what a great journey to find at roads end such a delightful restaurant. It's a fixed menu place with many courses and most dietary types catered for. Great service and food.... More

What a beautiful place. It is a bit of an adventure getting there along the dirt windy road but so worth it. You would think you were in the countryside of Italy. The decor is italian and our waiter was italian. The food was truly wonderful. I wish we could go back!

We had a lovely al fresco lunch here with a fabulous bottle of wine. It is a long lunch though so be prepared to devote three hours to eating and drinking.

As an anniversary treat, we decided to try the degustation menu. Magnificent. Our slightly awkward dining constraints were accommodated without batting an eyelid, the waiter was helpful and attentive without being intrusive, and as an extra nice touch the proprietor was there and popped by to see if all was ok. The meal was sensational. 8 courses (none of which... More

Terrific surrounding, especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Food excellent. Wines nice as well, although preferred the cheaper Chardonnay! (Small comment - music a little too loud for me, but small point).

This is our twenty first visit to NZ. Our lunch here was one of the top two or three meals we have ever had in the country. Perfect in every respect. Service food and ambience were exceptional. An the wine list rocks. And we live in Napa so that says something. Wish we could go back tomorrow

This wasn't dinner it was a lifetime memory - the stuff of far higher awards than this but maybe Michelin judges don't get out these parts...perhaps that because after last weeks rains the 4 wheel drive taxi made for an adventure getting past the wash outs on the gravel road. But a journey worth taking...we did the wine matched degustation,... More
