The Pear Tree has gone through some massive changes over recent years and thankfully has found its feet again and is up to the high standard set by Martin & Debbie who made it the place to go a few years ago (who now have the Methuen in Corsham). We had a delicious Sunday lunch, plenty of tasty rare roast... More

What a fantastic place . We have stayed twice this month and have only good things to say . Lovely rooms with stylish decor throughout and nice extra touches. Taylor's Gold and Forelle perfectly comfortable for families . Great food both in the evening and especially at breakfast. Jackie and her team are so welcoming , providing excellent service in... Apologies as this review is a bit longer than our others but there is good reason. We read on a website the Tollgate at Holt, wiltshire had a great garden and view. Utter rubbish, so we google n the car park and found the pear tree. Asking directions found our way up an uninspiring ring road and found this gem.... More

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome by the very friendly but professional staff. Despite a mistake being made with our booking, by the website we booked through not the Pear Tree, it was immediately solved with minimal fuss and complete charm. Nothing was too much trouble: the room was immaculate; staff delightful and meals... More

I have visited here a few times and thought my son would enjoy it. Lunch was fish pie and steak, washed down with a Patagonian Malbec, desserts of Almond and pear tart, chocolate tart and the cheese board with an Australian Noble Rot Riesling. Coffee and good chat in the garden. Our waitress was Lily I believe, lovely sense of... More

Like a few others, we used to be regulars at The Pear Tree, before it went completely off the rails under MPW. Now under new ownership, we returned there for the first time yesterday and thankfully it is back to top form. Marvellous service, outstanding food and a meal ate Al Fresco in the lovely gardens. We will be back... More

We have known the Pear Tree before, during & after the unfortunate Marco Pierre White period. Before, it was good. During, not so much!! Now, it has shot up, phoenix-like, from the ashes and is BETTER THAN EVER. Great location, lovely garden beautifully kept. A pear tree I totally covet!! Food really excellent & imaginative, wine list impressive and sensibly... More

We visited the restaurant on a sunny summer evening. Setting was beautiful, lovely gardens and inside tables spacious and well attended. Food was good, a little pricey for what was served. We found the meals incredibly rich, especially the puddings. Tastes and flavours were delicious but although portions were small they were difficult to finish.

My husband and I stayed here Friday evening as a stop over to see our Son and his wife on our way back from holiday. After a long journey the welcome we received was friendly and efficient and a well earned drink in the garden in deckchairs was heavenly. Our room (Anjou) was a good size and decorated with rustic... 6 of us booked, to celebrate a graduation. First impressions were good and the venue and atmosphere was very pleasant. We were welcomed in and directed to the bar area before dining and warned that there was a large group in before us. This was good advice, as we ordered our meals and they were ready without delay. The menu... More

Hi Gary, Thanks for your comments, it's always great to receive feedback. I'm sorry that you found our service 'odd' - that's not quite what we're aiming for. Nonetheless, it sounds like you enjoyed a very pleasant evening. Hopefully you'll visit again in the near future. Marcus More

After being closed for over a year The Pear Tree Inn has been carefully restored as a farmhouse kitchen with bar & rooms. It has a relaxed & rustic appeal to the locally sourced menu & reclaimed quirky decor.

An old stone build farmhouse with rug strewn flagstones & reclaimed timber flooring. It features worn wooden tables with mismatched furniture and linen napkins. The Pear Tree Inn will showcase the best local suppliers with a menu guided by the seasons. It also offers overnight guests eight contemporary individually decorated rooms split between the Inn & a beautifully converted barn
