We were out for a Sunday drive and dog walking in the forest near Thetford. Heading down into Suffolk we were ready for lunch an saw a road sign for the Dark horse though we would go and see if they had table as it was a Sunday. Several tables were reserved but we arrived just after 12 midday and... More

This is a great place to eat or just visit for a drink. The staff are friendly and the food is good. I have eaten here on numerous occasions and even had a christmas dinner with a few friends and never had one complaint about the place. I still have yet to sample the cream teas on offer but have... An old stable with 3 draft beers not much choice, restaurant was quite with two other dinners. Food quality was very poor, over cooked meat, veg was old and not prepared and over cooked. Hygiene was a concern due to the number of people entering the kitchen A horse would of eaten better in this old stable will not return.

Found by accident, just followed brown signs. Lovely venue in old stables, very quaint. Staff very pleasant. Food was good although the duck was a little over cooked for my taste, but it was still good. Had crumble for desert which was good, I did ask what make of ice cream they served and after checking with the kitchen said,... More

My lamb was good but veg seemed tired. Service friendly but a little slow. Hot inside barn like restaurant. A bit pricey. Lovely setting. Turned loud muzak off when we asked. Why do posh restaurants like this think we need intrusive pop music?

Although a bit off the beaten track, the setting of this restaurant is lovely. Set in the old stables, it retains many original features. A warm welcome by the staff was followed up with superb food and wine. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a large family gathering and were very well looked after by the wonderful friendly waitress. Drinks outside in the lovely courtyard followed by a wonderful meal. All of our dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour, whether it was scallops, steak , chicken or lamb all cooked to perfection. Great menu and fabulous puddings including the most... Returned to this restaurant, after having a pleasant meal some weeks ago. Unfortunately, this time it did not score high as it did before. I had a very good creamed pesto and blue cheese gnocchi, where my partner had a somewhat overcooked pan fired pigeon breast. For mains, my partner requested rare sirloin steak. Unfortunately, it came up medium, to... More

We enjoyed a quick stop here for lunch while visiting friends in Suffolk. The pub and restaurant occupies an old stable block in quaint surroundings. There are holiday cottages around the grounds too. Our lunch was good and well presented. Pub favourites like Steak & Ale Pie, Fish Pie as well as more adventurous offerings. We sat on the terrace...
