I really like this place. The welcome and food was very good but the service was a bit slow. I think they were short staffed which is not good on a Sunday lunchtime with only two staff looking after both diners and the bar. Still we were not in a rush but a bit more warmth would also have been... More

We popped in here late one evening after a busy day out walking, the food was amazing. We especially enjoyed the home made soup and steak burgers. The pub was very bust the entire time were there with many people eating which is always a good sign. Would definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

On arrival the outside looked inviting with the exterior of a country pub and as we stepped inside we were not let down. There was a log burning fire on the go and a nice buzz in the room. It is more of a foodie pub although there is a bar and seats just for drinking away from the restaurant... More

First visit, group of 7 at lunch. Really great menu choice and we had a range of dishes, all looked great and most were well received. I had the "Fish Mixed Grill", a selection of fish which looked amazing. Spoilt for me though with such a heavy/strong "drizzle", shame as it masked the flavour of the fish. Very good value... More

This place was great. Such a warm welcome by management and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was excellent, menu varied and could not ask for better quality in content and presentation. Fantastic value, well worth a visit.

We have been to this restaurant twice in the last few weeks and cannot praise the food and service enough. Absolutely incredible food and lovely setting and atmosphere. We will certainly be returning as soon as we can. I would also definitely recommend the steak night on a Tuesday which is out of this world.

We visited for a family meal this evening and everything was perfect. The staff are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks to Doug & Claire for being so attentive & looking after us. We had a table of 12 and everyone really loved the food, hats off to the Chef and the kitchen staff. Thanks again... More

What a dinner, last moment booking for a group of 20PAX. Fast service, great food which was really tasty. Amazing to know that most of the food is locally sourced. Don't mind paying that extra $ for quality!

Eaten here before and had an excellent meal, so returned for lunch. Fishcentric meal for me as we shared the Whitebait starter and I then had the Fish & Chips, which was haddock. Just excellent - all the fish obviously fresh and perfectly cooked. We found out from the owner where he gets his fish from - all small family... More

This is the only time I have felt the need to put anything online about my experience. It may be unfair as on every previous visit, the food has been worth travelling up from Newport for. This was my pre-Christmas treat and I was disappointed with the overall standard of the food. I had the parsnip soup to start, which... More
