A lovely looking restaurant with an interesting menu and a friendly manager. However, this is meant to be a review about the food. We were happy to wait for the 40 minutes between order and service since we knew things were being cooked to order. My wife's rack of lamb (3 small very pink chops) and vegetables were cold. My... We were on holiday and we had dinner here as a couple with our dog. Often when dining with a dog you can be made to feel unwelcome despite a pub claiming to be dog-friendly, being put in a corner away from other dinners. But not here-We were instantly made to feel welcome, especially our dog who was given lots... More

Had a couple of very good meals there during a week's stay in the locality. Menu was imaginative and varied while we were there. Nice bar and lovely garden with seating. I'd advise reserving a table at weekends - although the large garden is good in fine weather.

A beautiful 19th century building with a very good pub right in the building. The host was friendly and helpful. It was a welcome stay after a day of driving through the Wye Valley. Dinner was lovely, and breakfast was very enjoyable. Our room had a comfortable bed with a nice view out of the window. Only downside, our room... More

After being turned away from 3 other pubs which were too full due to it being bank holiday monday, we came across this place. We went in and found the bar - barman was friendly and informed us that it would be a wait as it was really busy. We ordered and went to wait outside with our drinks. It... More

Had dinner with a group of 12 friends and we were very impressed. The food was very well presented, the service was friendly and efficient and the ingredients were of high quality. Certainly a place well worth a return visit having not been there for 16 years. The setting is delightful and the restaurant offers value for money with the... More

I was enroute from Watford to Pembroke Dock and needed a light meal. I was trying to find Cross Keys in Goodrich and came across The Hostelrie, so decided on that venue. On arrival I mentioned to the barman I had been looking for the Cross Keys but he said it had closed.. I was told they were busy and... More

Hubbie; hound and I stayed here for a long weekend of walking and relaxing. The hotel is a great place to stay; clean great amenities and very helpful. The bar area that accepts dogs has a great environment and the service was above and beyond the call of duty. We are extremely well fed and even after much wandering else... More

Popped in for lunch after walking in the fields and woods around Goodrich. Nice warm welcome, excellent fish and chips and the sandwiches are hearty. Can also recommend the chips to accompany the sandwiches. Lovely country pub atmosphere.
