Having spent a holiday in Spain, driving leisurely from the Dordogne back to the UK, my wife and I stopped for lunch at Hotel de la Tour in Masseret, a tranquil village set high up on a hill just a couple of kilometres off the A.20 Motorway. We sat outside in the shade with views of the Tour and enjoyed... More

This is a typical menu composed by a lazy chef. Apart from salad, meat and fish, it all seems to come from a tin or the freezer. Bought at metro or Aldi? Sorry, you cannot fool me with some stripes of reduced balsamic vinegar or a line of chocolate. They are not even able to serve a ‘Affligem’ beer with... More

We stayed here for one night on our way to the airport. The room was quite basic but adequate. The staff were really friendly and encouraged my school girl French. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food. It was reasonably priced and the service was excellent.

This place was quite odd but perfectly acceptable if you can get past the fact that it looks a bit like a mediocre spa hotel toilet from the early 90s. That said, the food was excellent and the service very attentive - if, again, a little odd! All in all, it's a pretty good option for being stuck out in... More

Part of a recently extended family-run hotel, this nicely presented restaurant provides fixed price menus to suit all pockets, ranging from 3 courses at 20€ to 4 courses from 29€ upwards. The excellent food is nicely presented &, naturally, features local produce like tasty Limousin beef & the cul-noir pork, as well as fois gras & black pudding. Starters can... More

I ate in this tastfully decorated restaurant last year. The table service was wonderful glasses and crockery quite beautiful........but the food........my goodness, most of my party ordered either a goats cheese salad or duck salad to start with, being fair, the goats cheese salad was nice, but the duck salad was awful....for the main course all the party ordered chicken.....well...
