Just inside the door a sign says to seat yourself so I did. The table I chose near a window was wet so I told the server, who looked at me funny saying she had just wiped it. I asked for a towel and she returned and partially wiped the table top dry. I guess we're supposed to wait for... More

Our dinners were delicious. You can buy wine at the store on site. The restaurant is a quick walk from the cabins and rooms.

The little flies which seemed to take a shine to us were annoying though but they had been a feature of... More

Food was good and the views were great, costs were a little on the high side, but you pay for the location. Chocolate bars were $2.50 each in the store, quite expensive.

We stopped there for lunch along the foggy coast because I had stayed there several years ago and enjoyed the view. We ate inside because it was cool and foggy ordering a chicken Caesar salad and turkey Reuben with two ice teas. In retrospect, we should have ordered the "famous" Fish and Chips at $22 and split the serving plus... More

The family that owns the lodge and restaurant purchased the property south of Big Sur in the late 1800s. It has stayed in the family ever since. The lodges, individual little buildings, have electricity and water but no internet and no TV. The restaurant has a full bar and is open for three meals a day. Everything is overlooking the... More

I arrived at this restaurant on a Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The restaurant says it opens at 11:00 a.m. The restaurant still had a closed sign. There were 25 to 30 bikers in the parking lot, many consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana. The one unisex restroom had a long line. The store was open, The store clerk said the restaurant... More

We really enjoyed the fish and chips and the salad that we ordered. The view was superior to Nepenthe in my opinion. Definitely worth a stop.
