You can't go wrong with Fish and Chips by the sea. The view, the service, all divine. It made for a great finale as our last stop on the way out of BigSur. Stop for a refreshing beverage, or a meal. Perfect spot to start...or end your trip.More

We stayed in Room 10 for both anniversary celebrations and we get the fish and chips lunch whenever we are in the area. Best fish and chips with a view you will ever find!

Went to see the slide and the closed highway..............they won't let you get close enough to see anything. Anyway, stopped at Lucia for a quick lunch. The server was SO helpful and friendly. The view is spectacular. I strongly suggest a stop when out that...way.More

Well the view is absolutely mind blowing here, aside from that it's a small sandwich type place and the food was very very good, and so was the service!

Perfect stop between Monterey and San Simeon. More or less half way. We had a very good california sandwich. Very friendly waitress. Magnificent views (the whole coastal route is stunning anyway).

We stayed at Lucia Lodge cabins so availed ourselves of the restaurant for both dinner on Sat., Feb. 8 as well as a complimentary continental breakfast on Sunday morning. This restaurant is mostly limited to guest dining during the off-season; we didn't see any one...stopping in that was just driving by. The hours were VERY limited for dinner (something like "open at 5pm, order by 6pm and eat fast...closed soon thereafter"). The food (we both chose salmon) was mediocre and not inexpensive. I understand the logistics of why food is expensive in Big Sur, but it needn't be this bland. The one guy serving was fine, but as the other guests filtered in the service became very spotty. On Sunday, the signs will still say "closed" but they leave the door unlocked for guests; let yourself into the restaurant and grab a yogurt and a banana, a cup of (just okay) coffee, take in more of the view... There were no servers/attendants on Sunday at 8am...an empty restaurant. Maybe this is a restaurant that is better in the tourist season.More

This place is incredible -- we stopped here on a whim as we were passing by on a road trip. We both got the special - a fried chicken sandwich topped with coleslaw with fries. It was delicious - perfectly fried, tangy coleslaw, great fries....Our waiter was so fast and so friendly, running up and down the stairs with orders. We stopped the next day at Nepenthe's, a little further north through Big Sur and it couldn't even compare to Lucia Lodge (also possibly called Pacific Edge)!More

The best Fish and Chips I have ever had. Lovely view to the ocean, bug for sure better during spring and summer time.

Not many choices while driving highway 1. Stopped here as we were hungry for lunch. Had fish and chips. They were great although $24 for a lunch item seems rather high but the view and patio are great.

We find this place almost by chance... it was cozy and cool... we loved the unique view and the tasty fish and chips... definitely a milestone for Route 1 travellers.

We came here for lunch whilst driving along Highway 1 and were blown away by the views over the landscape, but also by the quality of service we received. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was quick to arrive. The menu...claimed to have some of the best fish and chips in the US, I (being British) have high standards when it comes to this meal, and so was a little apprehensive of that. However I was pleasantly surprised and would agree with this claim!More

The view from the patio is great, the overall environment perfect for relaxing after driving CA-1. Our hamburger was very good, better than expected for a restaurant catering to tourists. The service was prompt.

We found this spot upon not being able to get a table at the restaurant we originally wanted to dined at. What a great find it was! Ocean view table for 4, great food and amazing service. Pasta and salads with added salmon were fresh...and exactly what we wanted. Bread was amazing. Local wine was a great compliment to the meal. Highly recommend for dinner! Server made the experience even better. Stop by at Lucia!!More
