Decent priced food and good sized portions! An affordable option in Big Sur & there’s a terrace at the back. It was a good place to stop on our trip

This was a fun day trip for lunch from Monterey. Quirky but cool, great beer selection, food (cheese steak was the winner). Above Post Ranch, but tucked into the hills so no view. Parking is limited but still really cool. Get there before 12 if...you can.More

Not too crowded, parking good compared to other restaurants close by. Ate on the patio which did have heaters. Pork tacos did not agree with me.

Admittedly, I didn't eat there. Simply enjoyed a beer on the back deck. Such a beautiful spot, an oasis. Staff was super cool. Beer was cold. Wish I was there now.

We were impressed by the variety of food options at the Taphouse, as well as how quickly it was served. A very casual, outside environment with a view of the mountains.

This place seemed promising from the reviews, but it really wasn't anything to write home about. My husband ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which was advertised as blackened chicken breast sandwich with a garlic aioli. The chicken was not blackened and it was shredded. The...chicken tasted dry and had no flavor. The garlic aioli was just mayonnaise. I ordered the chicken tacos and the chicken on my tacos was the exact same chicken that came on the sandwich. We also ordered chips and guac. The chips were definitely from Costco or someplace similar, the guac was okay. The atmosphere of the place was pretty neat especially with all the Halloween decor, but people were smoking weed on the patio which I didn't want to have to smell while trying to eat.More

Our first trip to Big Sur and couldn't have chosen a better place to eat. The patio (outdoor in the back with social distance tables) was perfect for us. The service was very fast and very good. The food was tasty as well! Highly recommended!...We got quesadilla, fiery chicken sandwich, great beers on tap. Loved the food!! I read in one of the posts that it the food is expensive, it is Big Sur, so please expect everything there a little bit expensive.More

I tried three different items, all pretty much inedible. The chicken they used was tasteless and seemed like it was from a can or something. I ordered nachos, tacos and grilled ham and cheese--after a couple of bites, realized I couldn't finish. Poor quality, tasteless...and funky.More

The food was good but very expensive. We were a bit surprised at the bill total. Tiny little place but great beers on tap. Beware, this area gets very busy! Also, they have free WiFi.

This local bar is a great place to hang out to watch sports and eat yummy inexpensive food. GF options are awesome. They have GF bread! 🤩The nachos were huge. The bbq wings are spicy, tangy and oh so good. It’s next to a convenient...deli where you can buy snacks and eat there as well. We will definitely will be back.More

Another must in Big Sur. One of the locals go-to spots. Stephen, Raaf, Seth & crew make you feel welcome and are very professional.

We stopped here for beers while exploring Big Sur, then returned for dinner. The space is appropriately rural/funky. The patio isn’t quite Level, and there were steps up or down to many of the tables. I think all the spider decorations were because Halloween is...near, but they could be year-round. It was a little noisy because the football game was on TV. I was pleased to have gluten-free bread for my sandwich, and the beer selection was small but with a good range of styles.More

The food was great and reasonably priced. You order at the bar and the food is brought promptly to the table. The bartender was hustling all night. Nice location just south of the state park. Parking is limited. We enjoyed our experience and would most...definitely visit againMore

The outdoor/back/upstairs patio scene looks like it’s straight out of an early-REM video: dirt floor, old picnic tables and adirondack chairs, vintage beer ads, scrounging/begging birds, tons of unkempt foliage. Feels straight out of the South. Had the brisket which was damn good. It’s a...beer place, I’m a wine drinker, and the bartender didn’t judge: gave me the healthiest pour for the cheapest price you’ll ever get in Big Sur. An eclectic clientele, as well as cast of characters that tend to hang out in the front parking lot along Highway One. A great time and memorable eveningMore

Great food and beer. We had the quesadilla and bbq chicken sandwich. Nice outdoor seating in the back. Reasonable pricing too.
