Best filet mignon ever!

This place is a must go! Order the fillet and nothing else. Not because the other stuff isn’t good but the filet is the bomb! If you like mushrooms the mushroom sauce is excellent. The price is so inexpensive for the quality of food. Just make sure that you pack up your own leftovers because twice we have left and been missing a half of a steak. Who does not like steak and eggs for breakfast the next morning?!

Excellent steak

Excellent steak at very reasonable prices and great service. The empanadas were really good too. What a find! We both had the filete - one with peppercorn sauce and one with blue cheese. I would have been happy if I’d been served it at a high end NYC steak joint and it was only MX$300 (about US$15)! If you’re a meat eater I would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing!

Amazing! We were told by a recent guest there that she had the world’s best steak there!!! We were not disappointed. My husband ordered the filet mignon with mushroom sauce that was so tasty and tender. I ordered the seasonal special chili relleno negado! The first taste was making my taste buds do a happy dance!! This was a dinner and an evening that will always be remembered wonderfully. They had a saxophone- clarinet player and we danced in the street! 5 stars are not enough! And the prices are fantastic!!

Not Canadian surf and turf

In a nutshell, the surf and turf is a stir fry and not a very tasty one at that. To add insult to injury, I got my partners meal and he got mine. I like medium rare and he likes well done so my steak resembled shoe leather. We did receive one glass of wine free to compensate. People at the next table suggested only ordering plain steak and theirs looked terrific. We will try again.

Very disappointed from previous visits

Was our third tryat new location. "Filet" was grissly and actually 3 pieces of meat held togther with tootpicks. Ribs were overpriced, overcooked and with minimal edible meat on them. Perhaps grill cook was distracted by greetig large local party, after which our table service was almost non-existent. Probably done with this restaurant after a number of good years. aybe too full of themselves after making the move. Also, prices on fillets up ovver 10%. Too many better places in town to chose from.

Terrible steak

I ordered a t-bone steak and it was undercooked and like rubber with a ton of fat and bone. I could barely chew it. When they took my plate away he asked how it was and I told him. No one came to my table to talk to me about it. When I got my bill I spoke to my waiter and asked if they were going to do anything about it he said no, I should have sent it back. Fair enough but I am one of those people who doesn't send their food back. The dinner experience has been lost if I have to wait for another meal. And no one apologized and all I got was dirty looks. I won't go back.

Great atmosphere. Lovely food

We ate here on several occasions as the menu is very diverse and caters for all tastes. You can have a lovely salmon dish or choose one of their spectacular steaks. There is also chicken and great spaghetti. They serve great cocktails or wine. Service is excellent and if you like the food ring the bell. The kitchen will wave to you!!

I paid too much for average food and long, long wait.

I fell unwelcomed. I was alone and they wouldn’t give me a table. They claimed that everything was reserved ahead. Then, I placed an order for expensive meat that I would pick up later (20 minutes), and take out. I came after 30 minutes, it wasn’t ready! I waited another 30 minutes. After 5 minutes I was home. All food except for french fries was half cold! I paid 450 mxn pesos for bad food and long wait. Never again.

Best steaks in PM

The best value for money restaurant in PM where great staff, good ingredients and a proper BBQ provided for an excellent meal on both our visits. Their offer included a good range of large succulent beef steaks and salmon all cooked over real charcoal. The prices, for the quality of food, are very good and we have already booked our next visit. The large bell (hanging from the tower) is regularly rung as departing customers show their appreciation of the meal. Saul and his team strike a perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism.

Best filet and fish dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Price and quality really ok. The sax player is also an attraction when you need listening music. Would recommend this location for all food and listen enhanced music for dinner.

Perfect steak

Top quality fillet mignon cooked to perfection for a third of the price back home in Canada. Friendly staff and quaint Mexican atmosphere with live music. Don’t forget to ring the bell on the way out.

Still serving up deliciousness!!!

We were at El Campanario five years ago and we had a wonderful experience. We just got back from Puerto Morelos and El Campanario is still serving up delicious food. I was really happy to see Don Arturo is still in the restaurant game. The pasta is outstanding and the Parillada with different meats is delicious. I highly recommend this place; they’re a high quality dining experience.

We have been there a few times, and each time everything was just delicious! From steaks, to empanadas, to today's seasonal delicacy 'Chiles en Nogada', you can't get a better meal anywhere. Service is outstanding...they make you feel welcome and 'en casa', especially our favorite waiter Saúl!

Good food at a reasonable price

This is still one of our favourite restaurants in PM as they use good ingredients and cook them well. Many of the dishes you can see being cooked over the charcoal at the back of the restaurant and the steaks are the best we can find in PM. There is a good atmosphere in which Saul and his staff look after you and when you get the bill you're happy to pay for good food and good service.

Enjoyable evening

We have been coming to Mexico for 20 plus years and I've never ordered a steak. We both ordered bacon wrapped fillets and could not have been more please. Cooked perfectly and taste was great Place was packed and everyone there seemed to be loving their food and enjoying the environment. Will definitely be back.
