What an experience!! We waited 10 minutes for a table as we were determined to visit due to the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately the first half of our experience was not good. We had various issues, partly because of the server's error and a lack of language understanding. We sent both our meals back twice and the server must have seen that we were upset and not enjoying ourselves. The manager came over and he turned around our experience into a highlight of our trip. He looked after us so well and gave us the missing vegetables we thought would come with our meal, plus a free churro dessert as well as free margaritas. Goes to show how with good customer service things can make a complete U-turn. Turned out we had the most wonderful experience and the staff there were so kind, nice and apologetic for the issues we had. Would 100% recommend. Thank you to all the staff that helped have a memorable and enjoyable time with you, we were touched with such kindness. A beautiful restaurant :)

I have eaten the best chicken in mole sauce at this place. Every dish we tried there was delicious. Most places we visited served sloppy cocktails but at El Charro they know how to do it right - cocktails were amazing. Prices are reasonable too. The staff is very friendly and chatty, they were interested in our origins and gave us good recommendations about food and tips about the city. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. You can notice that the walls were painted with colors characteristic of the region. The music was at an accurate volume and played Mexican songs which we loved.

Good but can improve...
I went with my husband to dinner... we ordered a melted cheese with chorizo (VERY GOOD)... prior to that they brought tortilla chips and sauces... really very delicious... for the main course we ordered sopes and tlayuda... the sopes are AWFUL, don't order them! The spectacular tlayuda. The margaritas were delicious, but the first ones were too acidic. Our waitress was Abi, but the one who took away the night was Carla, a super attentive girl.

We have been planning to try this menu since we read about it in Canada. We were not disappointed. Tostada de pulpo, tacos de camerones, Sopa de Azteca….. were all excellent. The margaritas were the best I’ve had in Puerto Morelos so far this year, Served hot and cooked perfectly. Service by all the staff excelled. Angel and Abby were attentive and engaged. Even Chef Gabby came out of her kitchen to greet us. Please try out this amazing cuisine…. You will not be disappointed.

Did some vague research prior but so glad we did. Excellent service and food was amazing. We had fresh caught whole Red Snapper cooked as recommended and it was perfect. A great atmosphere for most scenarios. Very friendly helpful staff…. Highly recommend a visit. Third night dining out in Puerto Morales and our best so far by a long way.

Puerto Morelos has a lot of hit-and-miss restaurants, but this one was a complete hit. EVERYTHING was good, from the food, sauces, location, drinks, service, etc. Our favorite dish was the Seared Tuna Tostada, which was outstanding. You can see the owners take pride in the quality of their food and presentation. Try the IPA from local brewery Pescadores, it's surprisingly good too! And the price is a bit lower than other "better rated" restaurants, which is a plus. A 9/10 overall.

It is a very nice and pleasant place, there is live music which makes the place more pleasant, the food is very delicious and at an affordable price. The delicious mojitos. The attention of the staff was very good, especially Yoseline who attended to me and was on top of everything. Very good person.

Quaint restaurant, they serve typical Mexican food.... I have tried the shrimp aguachile and it was incredible, also the sea & land molcajete.... Depending on your tastes, Ángel will understand you very well and will advise you what to order... Very good host of the restaurant....
If you have a taste for good food, this is your place. I recommend 100x100.

El Charro is a must if visiting Puerto Morelos. The food was very good and local beers were ice cold and perfect for the warm weather. Angel was very friendly and very helpful, he made us feel like we were guests in his home.

The food here at El Charro was AMAZING! The free starter of chips with three types of sauce blew us away with the first bite. We couldn’t get enough of the sauces and had to ask for more chips. Then our orders came and they were all the bomb. We had the enchiladas 3 mole, aguachile tostada and the octopus taco - all fantastic! Our server, Fernando, was equally as fantastic as the food. He was very attentive and friendly. El Charro is highly recommended when visiting Puerto Morelos!

We went twice during our time in Puerto Morelos. Mario was our waiter and was so attentive and friendly. We ate steak chilaquiles and guacamole, which were delicious. On our 2nd visit, we ordered enchiladas de 3moles —- SO DELICIOUS! & HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Also had a green juice, which was very fresh. Hope to go back one day. You won’t regret going, if given the chance♥️. It’s conveniently located near the square. Their music is great too!!
P.S. chips and salsa are delicious and range from mild to spicy, depending on your taste.

My husband and I were trying to find a restaurant we saw online but ended up stumbling upon this place and I’m so glad we did! This was one of the best places we ate at during our week long trip in puerto Morelos 🩷 our waiter was amazing and very attentive. 10/10 would recommend this place & the atmosphere!

Me and my wife dined at many restaurants in puerto morelos and colonia this is the best restaurant for Mexican food. The Molajete and mole enchiladas were fantastic and the Margarita was very good. Service was amazing...We will be back.

We went to many restaurants during our stay in Puerto Morelos and this restaurant was by far one of the best. We came here two days in a row. The tacos were delicious! The prices were very reasonable. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely return to this restaurant during our next stay in Puerto Morelos!

We tried a lot of restaurants during our time in Puerto Morelos and this one had the best Mexican food along with fantastic service. It was actually hard to find authentic Mexican food port side. We had mole chicken, Chile rellano and civeche and it was all awesome. This was the only place that offered me tamarindo to drink as well. Staff was fabulous and we will probably return at least once more. The pricing was also very reasonable.
