We stayed here on a road trip around England having just visited Stonehenge and on route to the round table at Winchester and Nelsons HMS Victory in Portsmouth. We were met by very friendly staff who gave us a drink whilst waiting to be shown to our accommodation. The Landlady, Jane showed us to our room which had breath taking... More

The pub had been closed for few years, but now it’s open again, and the new team seem to be getting it right. The Cross Keys location is both a great advantage, and a handicap. Finding it is the main problem, it’s in Upper Chute. There are quite a few Chutes, Upper Chute is down a network of lanes, at... More

I stayed for 5 nights on business. I'd really like to go back for a relaxing break and do some walking. Gerry and Jane are friendly and welcoming hosts. The pub is in a lovely spot with far ranging views from the beer garden. It is in lovely undulating countryside - great for walking. It is incredibly remote, but it... More

We stayed here for two nights the accommodation was clean and reasonably priced. The positives was the very friendly owners and staff. There were 3 real ales on tap, all were OK THIS PUB TO BE but none were that great. The menu was pretty standard pub grub with the added choice of a selection of pizzas. We ended up... More

I booked the Cross Keys for a relaxing night away where we could bring our dog, Lola. Trip advisor reviews swayed my decision & they were spot on. The hosts Jane & Gerry are so welcoming. Our room in a separate building was clean & very comfortable. Our meal was excellent and the staff in the bar very warm, friendly... More

Dear jazzangel, Thank you so much for your kind review. It was lovely to meet Lola, who will always be welcome to come back. We are blessed by particularly good walking country all around - even better enjoyed in the company of a happy hound! Kind regards Jane More

Delighted this lovely pub is back in business and serving delicious food. The setting and views are beautiful. Service is very friendly. Make every effort to seek out this tucked away Wiltshire gem.

Hi William L, Thank you for your review. We are pleased, as local villagers, that we are saving our lovely pub and letting rooms from those who seek to close such places causing great loss to a community. You are helping us enormously by submitting positive reviews for future visitors to see. Kind regards, Jane More

Had a really lovely two night stay here and Gerry and Jane could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. It had everything that we needed! Breakfast was very nice and we ate in the restaurant both nights as the food was delicious. So pleased that we stayed here. The... More

The Cross Keys is an absolute cracker, one of those little places that you stumble upon by accident, but get put in your book of places to re-visit because of your experience there, the hosts Jerry and Jane are really friendly and make you feel most welcome (Jane has a small Library and will try and find a book for... Over the past fifteen years, this establishment has been up and down despite some best efforts. It is in a wonderful position and the locals have always wished it well but, often, in vain. It looks as though the corner has now been turned, however, and it is the best it's been ... a complete smarten up but a very... More

Dear BruceandSuzanne Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your dinner and I will pass on your comments to my waitress and the Kitchen staff. We had a lot of help from our locals in decorating the pub so we cannot take all the credit but we appreciate your comments. We hope to see you again soon.... More
