There Is a Season for Everything.
I stopped going to this fun and great restaurant waiting for the fly season to be gone. Well management solved the problem by installing overhead fans. Flies flew and I am back to enjoy the food.
My husband took me to the Food Lake Container today for a birthday meal, and it was the first time for both of us.
A delightful server named Vanessa seated us and took our drink orders (mineral water for me and a tea for the...hubby).
After bring the drinks she took our order. We both ordered Orange Chicken and a large Caesar salad and they were delicious. Vanessa was very attentive, she speaks excellent English. The cooks and servers are friendly and helpful.
The dining area itself has a canopy to shield diners from the sun and rain, but as it is in the open and not enclosed you will find some flies. They were a minor annoyance.
We did not have any dessert as the two dishes were substantial and filling. The restaurant has a very large selection of dishes and will happily make modifications if you cannot eat a particular ingredient.
Hubby and I had a great time and would recommend Food Lake Container to all.More
Let’s start with the staff, very accommodating and friendly. Outdoor dining, nice setting with lovely Mexican music. My wife and I split the breakfast arrachera ((steak ) sandwich, meat was tender and flavorful, it came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and a light dressing. It was...delicious. We will return. They said they also deliver.More
Had a very tasty breakfast experience at Food Lake Container this morning..
I had the Vegetarian Omelette...Unique, is the word that comes to mind...Filled with corn, spinach, mushrooms, peppers & cheese...Accompanied with beans & toast..Usually hash browns...But they were out....Could share that item..it is big...enough..
My husband had the scrumptious Classic Omelette..Filled with bacon & cheese..with the same accompanying items I had..His plate was clean when he was done..
The outcome was..we both very much enjoyed our meals..the location & waitstaff..
Will return again for another meal..More
Being vegetarian opens lots of possibilities for plant-based food, which I love. My favorite lunch is a portobello mushroom hamburger with their delicious potato wedges. If you really love a good hamburger, this one is it! So much flavor, great texture and lots of delicious...condiments.I've tried the oriental and it's not my favorite, but my girlfriend highly recommends the steak sandwich and their guacamole is delicious! It's a go-to favorite!More
Food was a little above average but I had to eat hunched over to guard it from the flies. I know the flies are bad this time of year at Lakeside but some control should be made. I often think the restaurants should issue fly...swatters to all the staff and have a fly killing each morning before they open.More
Yesterday I went with my friend and once again I enjoyed my favorite Burger - BBQ. I have always in past visits there found it to be excellently prepared and always I order their also excellent wedgie potato fries. They have many different Burgers on...their menu and I know my friend again enjoyed the one he always orders.
Since my favorite Burger place closed many years ago and in trying various restaurants and their Burger(s) for me the Food Container will continue to be where I go for lunch and enjoy their BBQ Burger.
They also open and serve breakfasts.More
Have been to this establishment a few times and the title of my review pretty much covers it. The service is good and their prices are decent but I do not recommend their sushi. Got a case of food poisoning at last visit with sushi....Admittedly, I should have known since it was warm when served. Sushi is supposed to be cold and fresh; this did not appear to be either. This establishment needs a some serious improvement in food safety. A meshed in area in which to cook and eat and ceiling fans would be wonderful! Until then, dining area is open, hot and filled with flies. If you don't like sharing your meal with the little critters, go elsewhere. And it's too bad because their burgers and fries are damn good!More
