Excellent food

Great atmosphere as a small village pub should have. Made welcome as soon as we entered. We chose the vegetarian anti pasti which was enough for two people, and very tasty. We then had the burger with applewood cheese, which was the best burger I had ever tasted. If we are in the area again, would... read more

Went for dinner with friends, chose fish goujons, was extremely disappointed, three small goujons the chips were horrible, some were uncooked in the middle and the others were hard and tough. This is the second time we have visited and had a mediocre meal, didn't complain last time, decided to try it again, but won't be returning. The cost of... More

Luckily we managed to get a table with a last minute booking and didn't know what to expect as the restaurant has changed owners several times recently. We like The Ridgeway and knew that this had the same owners so took a chance. Very welcoming atmosphere and comfortably full. Superb meal, we opted for the Chef special pie which was... More

We went to the White Hart back in the summer, the ambiance was excellent, the menu was limited with far less choice than you would expect of a good restaurant, the served food was however of good quality and presented well. The consequence of such a limited menu is you are not minded to return often unless that is you... More

We had booked early for a 2/3 course lunch on the 23rd December expecting the restaurant to be packed out so near Christmas. Imagine our surprise when we found only four other people in the eating area. Me and my partner Jayne both ordered the flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce, and as requested by the menu card allowed for... More

the pub has different owners and the atmosphere and food not as good as it was. The staff are different and need a bit more training.

We went on for a family meal last Wednesday night. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the food was delicious. We had steaks, two syrup sponge puddings, a chocolate brownie and a chocolate fondant pudding which my brother was happy to wait a couple of extra minutes for as it was being prepared. Most people who haven't worked... More

Met with a group of my girlfriends at the pub for a bar meal over the weekend and we were all more than impressed with the experience we had! We had drinks in the bar area next to the open fire whilst looking at menus and then we went through to the restaurant for food. The atmosphere was really relaxed... More

Excellent food, staff very attentive and polite, even when absolutely run ragged and seemingly running the place when no manager visible. Would 100% return!
