Dine at the pyramids with style

One of the best authentic venues in Cairo for a breakfast or brunch / lunch .. Booking a table is easy by phone ( recommended) , the location and view are unique overlooking the 3 Great pyramids of Giza . The staff are polite and well trained .. the ambience is authentic even the music is well chosen .. the food menu is simple but rich .. 3 sets of menu for single person ( including one for vegetarians) and one set menu for 2 persons .. the appetizers are hand crafted as well as main courses .. portions are very adequate and desserts are perfect .. it is somewhat pricy but value for money is very good putting in consideration the setting and food quality . .. for one person expect to pay for lunch what is equivalent of $ 50 including taxes and gratuities .. one issue to put in consideration is that the entrance is through the main entrance to the pyramids area .. so you have to purchase tickets and pass through security gates to drive to the restaurant.. you can access it by car ( needs a ticket) … All in all ..it is a wonderful experience.. and if you pick a nice winter sunny day with clear skies you will enjoy a great meal around wonderful people and soak yourself in warm sunshine .. definitely you should try it wether you are an Egyptian or a tourist coming to visit egypt.

Regarding the entrance: We apologize for the unpleasant experience your encountered at the entrance, but we always try to inform our clients and state in our confirmation message our client that wait time at the gate might reach 30 minutes, especially during weekends due to the location of the restaurant and the high number of people visiting the pyramids every day, yet we understand that it can be frustrating sometimes . Must visit at the pyramids

The best restaurant at a major tourist attraction I’ve ever visited. The set meals can easily be shared by up to 4 people, making the place very affordable. I would Plan by day around a leisurely meal there.

I gave them rate because of the location and atmosphere. Unfortunately the set menu (big one for lunch) was not our family favourite, we went there with a big expectation and sadly the main dishes were far from our taste buds. Apparently the Pigeon and the rabbit dishes were made with efforts and passion but not my favourite. So if you don’t like the Arabic spices and tastes, just go there for coffee and tea and indulge the breathtaking view of pyramids. They are great and you don’t regret it. Restaurant Building is new and bathrooms are fresh.

My family and I had lunch on Tuesday, January 31, and the food was very bad and the service very bad. When asking for the bill, the prices are so high that it is unbelievable that you are in Egypt and you feel that you are being robbed. Note that the menu does not have any prices Of course, this is a bad reputation for Egyptian tourism compared to other countries. It is not the policy of the Ministry of Tourism, nor the policy of the Egyptian state.

Exceded my expectations

I decided to spend my birthday in Egypt and actually have a very nice lunch for myself somewhere memorable, but at the same time with good food. I found as a recomendation Khufu's as one of the restaurants with the best view of the pyramids, and actually this one is located inside the touristic complex. Due to this reason I was afraid that it would be all about the location and would have to sacrifice having excellent food. Now after being there I can confirm I'm glad I was wrong. The food is actually one of the best I experienced in Egypt and there was no dish that failed to surprise me on how good it tasted. I requested the Egyptian Culinary option #2 selecting the Stuffed King Pigeon, and deffinitely cannot recommend it enough. Should I return to Cairo will make a point to deffinitely return here.

Great restaurant with an unmatched view!

This is a follow up review. I wrote the first review about Khufu restaurant in October 2022. I was happy about my experience with the reservation and was looking forward for an upcoming trip in December 2023 which did not happen! Thankfully, my family and I were able to make it to Egypt in July and we were so happy with our experience at Khufu’s. We reserved a late lunch at 2:30 pm after a two hour pre-official opening tour at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) (about a mile away)! Heads up for anyone planning to make it on time for their reservation: reaching the restaurant needs some planning as mentioned in other reviews because you first need to get tickets to the Giza plateau but I imagine with the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in the next few months and having the plan in place for visiting the GEM and the pyramids / Sphinx area, getting access to the restaurant will be more straightforward. Nevertheless, for the time being following the instructions sent by the e-mail/ phone message and give yourself enough time, we arrived on time. A bonus: since we had tickets to the pyramids too, we were able to take a quick tour by car as close as we can to the Pyramids and Sphinx after we had our lunch at the restaurant. We chose to sit indoor. The decoration and the setting are really nice. Food and service were pretty good. Waiters are polite and respectful. The place is very clean and well organized and it seems they are planning for expansions as part of the overall new plan for the Giza plateau. After we had our lunch, they asked us if we would like to have our coffee/ tea with the deserts at the outdoor area so we can take pictures which we were happy to do. They set another table for us and we spent another hour enjoying the view and our drinks. An overall great experience with an unmatched view. We are looking forward to try it again with the opening of the GEM.

High-end restaurant right on pyramid grounds

Absolutely incredible experience. We were looking for food options near Giza and this was only one of two on pyramid grounds. Sounded like your usual great view but expensive average food, and it was anything but. The food was fantastic. Elevated Egyptian cuisine doesn't even do it justice. This is the type of food you would find at high end or fine dining restaurants. My wife and I both had the set menu, with the fereek and the fish. Both were incredible. The Keshk Almaz starter (chicken with crispy rice in a milk sauce) was a standout. The beverages and cocktails were also really nice, with us opting for a sangria with the warm pyramid views. Also want to shout out our server Hassan Moustafa, who was just charming, funny and great with his recommendations Highly recommend especially if you're going to see the pyramids anyway

A Pyramids Treat

We were on our second visit of our trip to the Giza plateau and this restaurant had been pointed out to us by our guide the day before. In the Giza plateau (thus you have to pay to get into the plateau) we just walked in following treking around the pyramids. It is without a doubt like an oasis. In the desert stood by itself (it looked like they were building shops and there was a conference centre, this didn't detract). We arrived about midday and booked a table for lunch at 13.00 (it doesn't open on an evening which is a shame). we had drinks sat outside in a covered area over looking the pyramids and then had a beautiful lunch. It has a good varied menu including fish and it was exceptioanlly well cooked and well presented. No criticsm of other restaurants in Cairo but the presentation of the food here really was excellent. Polite and friendly but not over bearing staff. If you have the time it is well worth a visit.

Refused to let us site outside

I had a terrible experience in that restaurant, we called and when arrived it was totally empty and said sorry it’s fully booked on the view side and refused to let us sit outside his name was Mena, because he wanted us to tip him, I think ministry of tourism should fine places that do this to tourists. It’s really not fair. And the food was not that waw considering all the trouble we went through

Finally a great restaurant experience near the pyramids

An exceptional experience near the pyramids. write Marriott Menahouse on the GPS for accurate directions. Beyond the chaotic pyramids entrance, once you get there, you'll discover breathtaking views. The Egyptian-twist cuisine is fantastic, and the service, from the hostess to servers, is exceptionally attentive. Despite being busy, the place is well-organized. The food is excellent, although the dessert wasn't as impressive as the other dishes. Overall, I highly recommend this fantastic spot!

Worth it!!

Hard to beat a leisurely fine-dining lunch in view of the pyramids! They offer your choice of several fixed menu multi-course options for their lunch hour so my husband & I mixed & matched to try the largest variety. Everything was well prepared and tasty! Be ready to spend a couple of hours as the courses are served at a more traditional middle-Eastern pace. But enjoy the rest and respite from having walked many kilometers around the plateau pyramids! And be sure to make reservations- they accept them beginning 2 weeks ahead of time.

Unique view - Very good food

We were invited there for a business lunch. It was started with a very tasty appatizer. Then a variety of appetizers and main courses were served. Everything was very tasty and beautifully arranged. The chef personally came to our table and asked if everything had been to our satisfaction. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. Afterwards we had our coffee & dessert on the large, very nicely designed terrace. We had a magnificent view of the pyramids. We will never forget our visit there.

A modern Egyptian experience to delight the taste buds.

We discovered this newly constructed venue and restaurant whilst at the Pyramids of Giza. What a find. The food is a modern take on traditional Egptian favourites with each course tantalising the taste buds. The service is impeccable whilst you overlook the Pyramids of Giza. An absolutely magical dining experience which was so surreal due to the amazing location. One of our favourite restaurants of all time. In fact, we went back two days later to have the same experience.

Worst service ever

Extremely poor service. We waited for more than an hour despite the previous reservation and down-payment. After one hour they told us the food we ordered is mo longer available. Our lunch instead of lasting 2 hours lasted 5 hours because of extreme disorganization. The food was good but definitely the experience lousy. Never again and absolutely not recommended

Extraordinary culinary experience

I visited Khufu's with my german boss and colleagues for lunch after visiting the pyramids. For them the experience was "surreal"... everyone pretty much enjoyed the food and the ambiance! The sense for detail is truly impressive Hassan served us and he was more than amazing, very attentive and super friendly!
