On our arrival we were greeted cordially. Our table next to the fireplace was perfect. The heat from the fireplace was comforting. Our drinks and appetizers arrived promptly. The plates looked beautiful and the food was delicious. Our entrees arrived within a very reasonable time, all fresh very well prepared and tasty. My order of rack of lamb was roasted... More

If you have ever visited Budapest and wanted to explore the city you know that the best way is to use public transportation. On my visit this year I haven chosen to rent a car in Vienna and drove to Hungary. My hotel was 4 km from the city limits in the small, but lovely town of Solymar. The owner... More

Well knonwn supercute family business in a small village next to Budapest. Friendly staff, professional owner, excellent food. In spite of all these I feel seriously disappointed! Today morning I had to pay 30 USD for a breakfast. Surreal overpriced ham & eggs with some slices of tomatoes and a cup of tea in a village restaurant! 30 USD for... More

We came back after a very succesful and pleasant birthday lunch was held August last year. Knew exactly what are we looking for, this is the reason why we were so disappointed: made the reservation in advance for the terrace, finally we got the table in the opposite part of the building, inside. The service was chaotic, some of the... More

The restaurant is around 30-35 min. car travel from Budapest city center but worth for the visit. This is family restaurant where the owner welcome you and help to chose appropriate food for you. He has a huge experience in this business and know how to satisfy guests. The service is excellent and polite. You can find good mixture of... More

We were taken to this restaurant, far out of town, by relatives, who knew it well, being frequent visitors there. The trip itself was very nice, driving through the hilly and still green Buda districts, in a strange mild November weather. The restaurant has a big parking place and very ample, comfortable tables. Its menu is incredibly varied, with emphasis... More

We had family dinner there, very polite and efficient service, good food wide variety, and very reasonable prices. It is not far from Budapest, I can offer it to everybody

Michelin has recently started reviewing restaurants within Budapest; to date two restaurants have received a hallowed star. However, Micehlin is not reviewing restaurants outside of Budapest at the moment. If it did, this one would be high up on the list for getting one. Solymar is about a 30 minute taxi/car drive out of central Budapest and is well worth... More
