Firstly the view is amazing. The pub itself is gorgeous, the open fire was crackling away nicely. The beer was spot on, I had the Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Then we decided on ordering food....I ordered the Steak and Ale Pie. The pie looked flat as a pancake and very overdone. It was more like a mince as there wasn't one... More

Had a lovely afternoon and evening at the Dog and Gun. We were staying next door at Leeming Wells so this was ideal for food. First off the pub is beautiful and spotless, not a dim brass in sight. Two cosy open fires and good selection of beers. The staff were friendly and professional. We ate there in the evening... More

We stopped off at the pub as we returned to the nearby holiday park. We enjoyed a few pints of Timothy Taylor whilst looking out over the hills. Friendly staff and good service. The food looked delicious but unfortunately we didn't get round to returning.

We have visited the Dog and Gun on a number of occasions. It is quite a journey for us over from Merseyside, however we have family in the area and it has always been worth the trip. I would like to be fair in this review and start by saying the food, drinks and service were fantastic as always. However... More

Called for a drink mid afternoon after a day walking in the area. This is no longer a pub it is more a restaurant that tolerates drinkers with all tables set for food. The Timothy Taylor's beer is a good pint and well kept but this comes at a price and what a price. Be sure to call at the... More

Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch. I knew the pub from many years ago when I lived in nearby Keighley but didn't know how the years had treated it. My apprehension was unfounded, a lovely, characterful, Yorkshire pub featuring a fine range of the local Timothy Taylor beers, I had Ram Tam, a personal favourite - delicious! The food was excellent... More

We called on a Sunday for an early evening meal. It's not cheap but the food was reasonable and the pub is in a lovely location. We had roast dinners, which were fine. The pub was busy and the staff a little harassed but it is worth a visit.

Went for early evening meal. On arrival the car park was full. We were greeted by the landlord who was very pleasant. The menu had a good choice, the staff were very friendly. The food was very nice. It as been a number of years since I last visited here but we will be coming back.

Called at dog and gun this lunchtime for a drink and unsure if we wanted to eat. The pleasant staff asked us if we wanted some menus and these we had a look at. Some very nice sounding things on it but for us the main meals would be something we would eat in the evening not being big lunch... More

When we arrived, 1 o'clock on a Thursday, we were taken aback by the full car park. The pub was rammed! Always a good sign. Wonderful beer, a great light lunch and delightful service.
