We came here on our first night in Tulum and had some of the best Thai food we have ever tasted. The waiters were attentive and friendly and the view was beautiful overlooking the ocean - highly recommend

We enjoyed well-made cocktails and creatively presented appetizers on the serene oceanfront deck at sunset. The service was friendly and efficient. Our server Ricardo laughed at our jokes in English, indulged our questions, and provided blankets when it got cool after the sun went down. (We thought the pad thai wrapped in banana leaves was excellent.) The chef came round to check on our dinner afterwards. Quite a fine evening.

A group of my friends and I recently visited Mezzanine Tulum restaurant for lunch. Not only was the view stunning, the food and particularly the service was exceptional. So delicious and plated beautifully, the food will definitely bring us back but more so to point out was the service - our waiter who was named Ricardo provided service like no other; truly one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. Very attentive and the cherry on top of our wonderful experience here. Thank you Ricardo!

After a wonderful day on the beach, we stopped here for Christmas dinner. Service was slow but hey, we were on holidays. The food was fresh and flavourful, and you can’t beat the setting for a family dinner. The fried spring rolls were delicious, as was the panang and pad Thai. One of the few places we found in Tulum to serve tofu, and deliciously prepared it was.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Mezzanine! From the time leading up to the trip until the moment we left, the staff exceeded our expectations. I am extremely picky and I had no complaints at all. The rooms are beautifully decorated and immaculate. The Concierge Abdel made sure all of our requests were accommodated. He is very personable, friendly, professional and helpful, suggesting local entertainment and restaurants to visit.The food is delicious and the waitstaff is freaking AMAZING! Milo was one of the best servers we've ever had! Even when they began to get busy on the weekends, he was very attentive and prompt. Finally, the cleaning (fairies) ladies were absolute jewels. They seemed to know the perfect time to clean the room while we were away and we always returned to a picture perfect room. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our experience at Mezzanine and can't wait to return later this year!

We enjoyed every aspect of our meals at Mezzanine! It is very rare for us to rate restaurants this highly but it is impossible not to do so due to how great it is!
The view, the service, the quality of the food and the reasonable prices make it one of our favorite places to eat on the beach in Tulum. We had Thai food twice and the beach food once and have no complaints about the food and after eating at 4 of the Colibri Hotels restaurants, Mezzanine is our favorite.
In addition to the stunning view and food, it was a delight to be served by Andy! His attention to detail and enthusiasm about the food and drinks made the experience enjoyable and casual too. Andy was also patient and more than willing to teach us some Spanish. We would have returned to Mezzanine regardless due to the food and setting but we looked forward to going back to chat with Andy! We hope to see Andy next time we visit.
For the beach eats, we highly recommend trying the trio of ceviche; the aguachiles was one of our favorites eaten during our trip and coconut ceviche (vegan) was amazing! We also enjoyed the steak tacos.
As for the Thai food, the moneybags are a dish we saw in the Small Luxury Hotels Cookbook and decided to try. Yes, they are essentially spring rolls but quite elevated and balanced and the sauce was perfect. The larb gai, papaya salad and Queen salad were all top notch, like the good stuff you have in Thailand. Kudos to Chef Garn Surasak for coming to greet us to ask how our meal was going and thank us for visiting again.
They also have really good margaritas! We recommend the Thai margarita for a fresh and unique twist on this favorite cocktail.
Since Mezzanine accepts card, you don’t have to worry about walking around with lots of cash either. The easiest wait to make a reservation is to send them an email. We recommend making a dinner reservation for around 18:30 when it is still quieter and you get to see the view while it is daylight ad also experience the evening.

The food was absolutely divine. I swear I could have been in Thailand. It transported my soul half way across the globe. Andy was our server, and he was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu as well as personable. The ambience was perfection. The music plays on the speakers at the perfect volume. The ocean waves are heard throughout the evening. Please come here to this lovely establishment and request Andy as your server. You won’t regret it.

Mezzanine restaurant was outstanding. The view, the waiter (Jorge), the food, everything perfect. I love how they served our noodles in banana leaves and that they make you wash the hands at the entrance. Totally recommend!!

Went here for dinner and had FANTASTIC service, drinks, and food. We were very impressed by the unique cocktails. The service was amazing! We had everything we needed without being asked. The food came out so hot that we had to let it cook before eating (I love hot food!). After we had had a few bites, the chef visited our table to make sure everything was to our liking. So nice! Highly recommend this restaurant and the view is gorgeous!

My partner and I decided to walk down for dinner at Mezzanine one night and we were so happy we did. This place is incredible! Starting off, the cocktails were world class. Some of the best and most eclectic drinks we have ever had. As for the food, their Tom Kha was the best I have had, absolutely delicious. The other appetizers were very good and by the time our entrees were ready we had already had a very special evening. The entrees were wonderful as well, large portions of some of the tastiest Thai food you’ll ever have. My meal was spring roll, Tom kha, then pad Thai and I would do this meal again and again if I could. She had the fresh roll, Tom yum, and yellow curry and was every bit as excited about her meal as mine. Of course, we did some sharing and ended up with more than we could eat! The ambience is magical at night there. The trees are bonsaid to create a beautiful bodhi-tree-like canopy and the terrace has beautiful soft lighting making the place feel small and special, comfortable and beautiful. The service was spot on and Chef Garn stopped by to check on us! What a wonderful night. I’ve already recommended this place to some friends who are heading to Tulum soon!

We came to tulum to celebrate our one year anniversary (yesterday). We leave tmrw and decided to do mezzanine tonight (I love Asian food). What a beautiful place and the food was amazing. We got seated next to the ocean, got dumplings, money bags, fried rice and drunken noodles. The flambé dessert drink show was great!

Mezzanine has my favorite 2x1 happy hour in Tulum, and I’ve tried them all as I’ve visited every summer for almost a decade. The deck is beautiful and it’s easy to find a table in the shade or sun, according to your preference. Service is attentive and the overall vibe is luxe but welcoming. The 2x1 deal is only on margaritas, but they have a ton of different flavors (mango, raspberry and mint, spicy, cucumber, passionfruit, etc.) and they don’t have any strings attached to the happy hour deal, unlike some other spots on the beach.
Every summer when we visit Tulum, my husband and I try the guacamole at a bunch of restaurants, and we rank them all using a rubric we’ve developed over the years. The competition is called Top Guac and it makes us feel like Food Network stars. Yes, we’re nerds and take it very seriously and there are spreadsheets involved. Mezzanine has been the reigning Top Guac champ since 2016, and they’re in the lead yet again this year (although we still have a bunch of places to try during the rest of our stay). Plus, there’s always free live entertainment available as the resident iguanas wage epic turf battles on the deck and the rocks surrounding the pool.
Sitting on the deck at Mezzanine, drinking a frozen mango margarita and snacking on some stellar guacamole is my idea of the perfect afternoon. I always bring my guests here for their first happy hour in Tulum - it’s that good. Parking is easy. Just tell the attendant you’re there for the restaurant and they’ll open a spot for you. Happy hour is from 1:00-4:00 daily.

I was so disappointed in this meal. Appetizers were over cooked. The pad Thai was wrapped in banana leaves and honestly, the presentation was nice, but those leaves did not small good. I could not eat it. To me it smelled like vomit. The pad Thai was not that food either. For what you get at this place, it is spendy and the food mediocre at best. I will not eat there again.

Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry to read your review, when we learned while you were here that the food disappointed you so much,and our Thai chef Garn came to your table to personally hear the details of you dislike, even when we did our best to turn the situation around and prepared it differently for your personal liking. It is very unfortunate that you didn't enjoy it the second time either. We conducted our own tasting and truthfully, the Pad Thai was up to our high standards and the banana leaves were fresh and the baskets made at the moment.
Our restaurant has been open for 15 years, and we have earned a very solid reputation for serving fantastic food, Pad Thai has been our most popular dish of all times, we sell hundreds of portions per week to very delighted guests. However, we understand that at times a dish chosen may not be what we expect or just not find it to our liking. We do thank you for your feedback and we will make sure we stay on top of it all.

Went here for our last night meal in Mexico, i had the Tom Kha coconut soup and Massaman Curry, i think the coconut milk or stock they had used in both dishes had gone off. Food smelled like sick...ended up with food poisening, throwing up on our 18 hour journey back to Spain. Wine was nice and staff friendly.

Thank you for your feedback,be sure we are doing a thorough check in our kitchen to rule out any possible contaminated food, as we pay a huge amount of attention to the quality of our products. Coconut milk is prepared daily with fresh coconuts and we use it for most of our dishes, so far we have not heard about any other person reported ill, be aware that signs and symptoms may start within hours after eating the contaminated food, or they may begin days or even weeks later.

Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, and sitting beachfront was an amazing experience. While in Tulum I noticed a lot of restaurants have pretty dodgy service, however at mezzanine we only experienced the best and most attentive service. Fili was our waiter and was nothing but kind and attentive, and we can’t wait to go back.
