A nightly Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar at the the Slopeside Restaurant was listed in the online version of the Seven Springs Mountain Courier. After skiing all day, we wanted a light vegetarian friendly dinner. We opted for the Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar. Our experience was disappointing. From the moment we asked if they offered a Farm Table with local produce, the host was less than welcoming. When the first waitress approached our table she inquired if we were having the Seafood Buffet. We said we were having the Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar. Since both she and the host acted as if our choice was unusual, almost inappropriate, I felt a little awkward and uncomfortable. So I asked to see the menu. There was no Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar listed on the menu. Were the host and waitress behaving in a standoffish, unwelcoming manner because we were requesting something that was not on the menu? A second waitress approached us. She was the first and only friendly, welcoming face of the evening. She said Slopeside did offer an evening Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar, but that it was not listed on the menu. As a restaurant patron I'm wondering why not? To create confusion? To push the other items on the menu? Anyway, we had the Farm Table Soup and Salad Bar (which also included a dessert bar) for $17.95 per person. Some of the items were very good. However, overall it was quantity over quality with the most disappointing aspect being an awkward, unwelcoming atmosphere.

Cost for the buffet is $45 which is on par because of the all you can eat snow crab legs which were very good. The rest of the buffet options were limited and rather bland and rather cold by the time you made it back to your seat. Nothing stood out from any other seafood buffet I’ve been to. There was no fish aside from some dry salmon. The desserts also were nothing to celebrate besides the creme brûlée which was quite good. Service was normal and the wait staff was prompt and polite. Would recommend Carson’s Catering in Scottdale for their Friday night seafood buffet.

We got a the dinner buffet. Lots of choices, but we were surprised the salad options were only lettuce ( no add-ons like tomatoes or green peppers etc.) or prepared salad (like macaroni salad.) Soup was some kind of stew? No bread with dinner or on the buffet. Good desserts.
Our server was nice but not good. I emptied my pop, she never offered to refill it. Ditto my water, I drank my hubby's. By the time she came around to ask if we wanted coffee, i was over the cold drinks and asked for hot tea. He said yes to coffee. He got his coffee and I waited. Waited. Waited. Finally I got a cup of hot water and a tea bag. No creamer. I used one from hub's coffee. I was expecting a small carafe of hot water? It just didn't seem classy at all to be given an unwrapped tea bag.
But we loved our seat and watching the skiers at night and talking. People watching was fun.

We arrived at the Slopeside and were seated at our table. Waited 10 minutes before we saw a waitress then waited 5 more minutes before our order was taken. We received our beveridges. Thirty minutes later our waitress advised us our order was misplaced and she needed to take our order again. We repeated our order and she came back 15 minutes later and said it would be coming soon. Twenty minutes later we still had not received our order. We left without ever having received our food. It was then approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes . We had ice tea and waterOf bread and a dry piece of bread. Could not give you name of waitress as she did not have a name tag. Called and complained to operations director Chris Plummer had to leave a message on voicemail as yet have not heard from anybody. Disappointed in entire experience.

This quite possibly is the worst buffet you could get for $29/person. I think most of the food was commercially prepared and just heated there on site. Plus it was not kept to temperature in the chafing dishes. I gave it two stars only because our waitress was so nice.

The menu was limited but I prefer a smaller set of options as they tend to be prepared more consistently. We had a charcuterie plate and pork tenderloins shared between dad and 2 13yo kids. When the kids are happy, it's usually a good sign.

Service was great. Ambiance was great too. Able to see the ski slopes from our table. Someone at our table shared the Winter Salad with salmon with me. It was outstanding. The ahi tuna was exceptional. The biggest disappointment was the sea bass. The sauce ruined the undercooked sea bass. The buffet was adequate. The most disappointing thing was no steak on the menu or the buffet, which was the whole reason we went there

Breakfast was delicious, options for everyone. We ordered off the menu one day and were lucky that the buffet was opened the other days. The buffet had soo many options, everything we had was fresh, the right temperature, and delicious. The servers were very attentive.

Any of us that have known the original Slopeside restaurant are most likely very disappointed with the changes with the new management. Slopeside Restaurant USED TO BE excellent! Not any longer! We did the buffet believing that the new management could not possibly replace any of the chef's etc because it was soooo good. Last nights buffet wasn't just bad, it was terrible. The prime rib was tough. The other offerings were just mediocre .. My husband enjoyed the Salmon but said it was just average, nothing special. I enjoyed the salad bar better than anything and it is a mere pittance of what it used to be. It used to be fabulous and for the price they ask it should still be fabulous!! We actually visited because we used to be able to get salad bar ala'carte (it was that awesome) but nope, no more! You have to do the whole buffet to get the salad bar or add $9. to any entrée' to get it. $42. per person for the buffet and it sucked. Plus no more Friday night Seafood Buffet either. They also no longer offer the amazing Creme' Brulee as a dessert choice which was one of the reasons we visited. It's a crying shame and we will never be going back to a legend of a restaurant that now serves not average food but below average foods. This has taken a deep dive down and it is disappointing. My advice, save your money....sure hope the pizza in the pizza shop is as good as it used to be!

The room was ok. The food selection has slimmed down and is still cold. The arcade only had 5 machines working. This is the one place the kids could enjoy and it wasn't even working.. The staff is still very pleasant. There isn't much to do anymore unless you are a skier. Not worth the asking price. you get no value for your money.

I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the slopeside restaurant. The hostess was polite and helpful and the waitress was also quite nice. Nothing like a hearty breakfast before heading out to the slopes.
There evening menu was posted at the entrance and it looked to be a good place for dinner although we didn’t get a chance to try it.

I had to stay for a trade show and this is the best food option. The breakfast buffet was good, but you pay for it. The staff was very attentive and great coffee. This was the highlight of my stay. You get a view of the hillside, not Everest.
Got busy during the winefest.

This was our first visit to Seven Springs.
We were put in room 303 which I can't believe they subject any guests to. It's on a major thoroughfare for people getting to/from bars, restaurants, etc. so there's always noise in the hallway. Our view is mostly of a brick wall, but not everyone can have a slope-facing room (and we came here to ski, not look outside the window). But it's also close to a night club with pounding music and if you are sensitive to drum beats and bass notes, you will be unable to get sleep. Thankfully the front desk has ear plugs. I suggested they put pairs of these in rooms next to the night club.
What annoys me is that the person didn't tell me this when I booked the room. This room isn't cheaper than others. I was charged full price for a discount room.
As I am writing this, it's 12:11 am and another noisy crew just went down the hallway returning from the entertainment.
One other minor thing - but the website says they have a continental breakfast and they don't.
This said, the staff was super friendly and did everything they could to be accommodating (which wasn't much, but they tried). I hated sounding like a Karen to them, but I think it's fair that I should be able to get a good night's sleep if I'm paying full price for a room.
I love that there are so many family friendly things to do. My son is 12 and they have in-door mini-golf, bowling, a huge pool, a giant game room, an ice cream shop - and all different kinds of restaurants for whatever you like. And the staff working in these places, again, SUPER friendly and welcoming.
This trip has the opportunity to be the perfect trip. SO MUCH was great about it - except being unable to sleep.
If we had a different room, I would say that we would absolutely, 100% come back. After this, I just don't feel comfortable trusting Vail Resorts. If we book another trip, I'm going to need some kind of written assurance that we will not get such a horrible room again. If they can't promise that we will get an acceptable room, then I don't see us ever returning.
