Shocked when the bill arrived that each large wine was only £3 The girl serving was really attentive and lovely, and the... More

The food is so rich and tasty you'll need Gaviscon - but excellent fish and chips. Very addictive. Service is average at best, which is a shame. Def worth a visit.

Took my aged parents for lunch. It's usually good today we waited over half an hour fir food. It shouldn't be so difficult it's fish and chips. Tea was cold by the time the meal arrived.

We've been regulars at the takeaway counter here for around 7 years, never had a bad experience in all those visits. However on 18/11/16 - we picked up 2x fish and chips, a sausage and a mushy peas. Into the early hours of 19/11/16 both my wife and I started being very poorly and later on that day we had... More

Called in on the way home for the 1st time in quite a while.Fish overcooked on the outside(virtually burnt) and barely cooked on the inside, chips so-so.Used to be the best around, but on tonight's evidence quality has gone down a lot.Could not recommend on tonight's offering! The restaurant uses the same pans as the takeaway.

Normally very nice fish and chips locally, quality drops at busy times as they seem to cook faster, still good quality fish and chips just need to pay more attention to the details.

We popped in to the Mermaid for some classic cod and chips & jumbo sausages. We weren't disappointed. It's a strange kind of space ship inside. A one off.
