Staff are nice and friendly and surroundings are nice, but that's where the good things end I'm afraid. The Menu has now been broken down into component parts of a traditional Fish and Chips meal (I'm surprised they don't charge for batter and a portion of chips). So you pay for your Fish and Chips, but Tea is extra, Bread... More

Although often populated by the over 60's, the Mermaid serves up great fish, chips and mudhy peas...just as it has done for years. A local favourite and deservrfly so.

Always my favourite in Leeds. Quality fish n chips! Good for take out and a very comfortable dine in experience with friendly staff. Reasonably priced and decent portions.

A nice place, popped in for f and c after theatre. Looks more attractive than Tingley Bar Fisheries near bay but for what you get it was very expensive we thought. Nearly £10 for only an average portion of Cod and Chips. Skyline at Colton is better value.

Popped in today at lunch time for a quick fish and chips. We ordered small fish and chips and a glass of wine each. Fish was perfect size for a small portion, we had just the right amount! Shocked when the bill arrived that each large wine was only £3 The girl serving was really attentive and lovely, and the... More

The food is so rich and tasty you'll need Gaviscon - but excellent fish and chips. Very addictive. Service is average at best, which is a shame. Def worth a visit.
