The antipasto is quite tasty and it has all the typical things you‘ll usually find in this corner of the world. Grigliata is a decent main, even though I was expecting a piece of grilled beef and I found some of it a bit too...salty. Porcini (mushrooms) and caciocavallo (fried cheese) were pretty tasty. On the other side, I found the craft red beer a bit tasteless. Location is nice, just in front of the lake.More

After seeing Sila our guide brought us to this chalet-like Italian restaurant, grill, bar with two stories, a friendly welcome and lakeside eating options. We walked out behind the place – which was in the midst of a constuction of a sizable addition – and...headed down the grass to settle on a picnic table with a wonderful view of Lake Arvo and Sila surrounding. The view was beautiful and the just-after-summer-season vibe was extraordinarily relaxing. While it has a full menu of traditional favorite, friendly staff assisted us with selecting local food specialties that the area and the restaurant is known for which would fit within our veg/vegan/allergy needs. We feasted on a special round grilled cheese (Caciocavallo Silano,) and the Patata della Sila potatoes as popped chips and as traditional pan fried with onions, etc. I had a plate full of thinly sliced vegetables of my choice – grilled but not at all bitter, and unusually tasty and sweet. Our friend also had special flat grilled sausage soppressata della Sila. All with a distinctive tasting local bread, drinks, etc. We don't travel for food but actually enjoyed enough to take photos of all the dishes on our table! A place that would be wonderfully cozy in winter, and clearly designed to to accommodate the larger summer crowds.More

We went in August, the place was fully booked so we sat down expecting to be patient. No need, the staff we attentive, the food arrived quickly, our drinks were seen to and replaced regularly and the whole operation breathed efficiency. We all ate steaks...but with a variety of side dishes. Possibly the best fillet I have eaten, certainly that best location in which I have eaten fillet! Wonderful meal, exceptional service under trying conditions and we will be back.More

Everything was so delightful. We chose something vegetarian but everything was amazingly good and delicious. Service was very quick and everything was so fresh. Especially porchini mushrooms are incredibly delicious, so we ordered the second one ;) Also the restaurant has an amazing view of...lake. Everywhere is green and blue. If you come here in summer you can escape from the hot weather also you can eat delicious food.More

One of my favourite spot in Sila. The meat is great: super tasty and tender! The waiters and the owners are super nice and kind, the overall service is just perfect. Also the location is really cool, warm and cozy and the view is to...die for! The grilled caciocavallo is amazing and also the millefoglie. The price, compared to the high quality of the food and service, is really convenient! I can't recommend more this place!More

“Il Brillo Parlante” is well worth a visit if you’re in Lorica. Located by the lake shore, the views across Lago Arvo are lovely in the summer months. As a family, steak is not something we would normally chose to eat when visiting a restaurant...but, as it is the restaurant’s speciality, we thought we’d have to try... and we were not disappointed. We joined many of the other diners in choosing the 1kg steak to share - this is brought to your table on a sizzling platter and carved by a server... delicious! The staff were all friendly and attentive. We arrived during the beer festival with artisan beers for sale and musical entertainment each evening. We were only in Lorica for three nights but chose to eat at “Il Brillo Parlante” each night due to the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere.More

Placed in the middle of the Sila National Park, with a beautiful view of the mountain lake. this Bar/Restaurant is at 6000 feet high and even in summer is very cold. However they locally crafted beer is simply superb! It has to be tried! Ideally...it should be visited in winter when snow is down and the ski lift nearby are operating.More
