We stopped by here for lunch, lovely setting right on the water but we were not expecting to spend €60......for two burgers and a salad with drinks it was not cheap......the waiting staff seemed like they would rather you went to any of the ample other restaurant options in the area, got the order wrong twice.....with no apology. If we had not ordered drinks and food at the same time we probably would have not bothered staying. The food itself is fine but not worth the hefty price tag given what is on offer at other places in the area.

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic ambience

Churchill Restaurant offers everything. It will prepare you fresh fish and other delicious dishes whilst also offering pasta and pizza. The owner is very amicable and makes you feel very welcome. You can eat just by the sea in one of the most picturesque parts of Gozo.

Summer Dinner & Drinks

We visited the Churchill early on a Saturday night in June. The atmosphere was lovely and our food waiter and the chef were lovely but I think another waiter may have been in training as he brought out the wrong drink and when it was returned he never brought out the replacement drink and I was still charged for the bottle of Cisk which was the incorrect drink though it was taken back by him untouched. However, Nearly all of the meals were delicious. The rabbit liver entree was excellent and the Ravjul we ordered for our children was plentiful and tasty. My husband enjoyed the whole snapper and my parents enjoyed the lobster though it was smaller than expected. I however did not enjoy the Gozitan burger as it was dry and bland and not tasty. The cocktails were delicious, especially the Churchill cocktail. Overall a very good experience though it is on the pricier side in Xlendi. Pros- Fresh and tasty meals Cons- Expensive and charged for something that wasn't consumed

Second flop in 15 days

It's not the first time that we had been to this restaurant before where the food wasn't that bad. The location is wonderful and so 15 days ago we suggested to go with our friends for lunch. We ordered 2 fillets to be served on a lava stone. Lava stone never arrived. One of the ladies ordered a fresh fish and to be cleaned. Arrived whole and we had to clean it for her. We asked what was for dessert and we were told that there was nothing available. Today we tried again inviting another couple of friends. We placed our order and after a while we were told that they didn't have calamari, octopus, tuna, swordfish and seafood spaghettti / rice, So we had to ask again for the menus. Foreign staff very polite but too many misunderstandings. Two of us ordered spaghetti with rabbit sauce. The pasta looked glued to the plate. Over cooked and the size of the rabbit in the sauce was slightly bigger then an oxo cube. For the quality of the food it's far too over priced. Sorry we will not recommend and we will never go again. In Gozo there are so many good restaurants and reasonably priced. The location is perfect, but the food will spoil it all. We were so embarrassed inviting our friends to this restaurant. Never again

Horrible service and food!!!

Absolutely horrible service! After ordering our food we expected garlic bread to come as all of the other tables were serving them it before their maincourse. When we approached the waiter he just told us that it was supposed to come but still nothing came. When it came to the maincourse, every plate came seperate all 7-10mins apart which is absolutely horrible considering the prices and the quality of the food. We had a chicken ceaser salad which was horrible, i barely had any chicken, the pizzas were very small and they were 13euro each. The pasta was not cooked properly. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. The waiters are helpless, customer service is horrible and prices are not reasonable. Would definitely not recommend!!!

Either oily or tasteless!

Never again! This restaurant not only left us waiting over an hour for our food but also provided horrible tasting food. Out of everything we ordered not one was the Least bit tasty, in fact, one had to be sent back as the rice of the risotto was not even cooked! The vegan spaghetti option was unseasoned and had no sauce, leaving it tasteless and the other two pasta dishes were extremely oily, making them extremely sickly. I would highly suggest avoiding this restaurant as even the table next to us had problems and disliked the food.

Horrid food and service.

We went for lunch. Ordered a fish platter, beef fillet & pasta. The fish platter was mainly mussels & 4 prawns. All the musses were either closed or empty. Beef fillet was the size of a chicken nugget and cold on the inside. The pasta was offered with grated cheese. The cheese was full or prawn scraps and black crumbs. When complaining about the fish platter we were offered to change the plate to something else and they chose the risotto. Full of oily water. If all this was nit enough. They tried charging us for the fish platter with the bill. Would not recommend. Horrid food & horrid service. Much better options in the area.

Horrible Food

Such horrible food, especially meat and fish plates. Staff are not trained at all, and also do not speak english, more over asking if there are any traces of milk in food because I am lactose intolerant, the waiter didn't even understand or know about such allergies. So disappointed because it was a really good restaurant!!!

This is definitly not the Churchill restaurant I remember some years ago. Sat at the table without booking and a couple of tables free had already attrached my attention as I remember queues waiting to be served. Anyways to keep it short the value for money was very poor, of course there were some changes in prices but compared with other restaurants this is too much. Order main pasta you get a starter, pizza was definetly noy a tasty one and when you order a full rack of ribs you will be surprised!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service and food Ordered starter which arrived promptly, but I noticed because we were sharing a platter, no side plates were brought for us, although the table next to us had ordered the same and side plates were provided….maybe something to do who they were serving. We then waited over one hour for our main course. Checked with three different waiters and all saying it’s getting cooked. When it finally arrived, the food was bland, no taste, lacked seasoning Paid the full bill and no offer of discount Very poor service I would advise others that there are much nicer restaurants nearby and better value for the food served

Lovely location, good food good service.

Located right on the waterfront with shaded tables and fans, serving fresh fish. We had the Chicken Combo (massive portion) €18.90 and Cargenelli Chicken €14.90 (also available as a starter. Very tasty. A bottle of local Pinot Grigio Gabrieli €15.00 went down a treat in sush warm weather accompanied with a bottle of chilled still water €3.50. Excellent service and fair prices. Toilets also available. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Bad service

My pizza Gozitana was good however the garginelli with chicken were rather tasteless and small portions. Service was terrible. Did not come to take our order and when we signaled for the waiters we were ignored. When I finished eating the waiter came immediately and asked if I was finished he then put my fork and knife in my father's plate WHO WAS STILL EATING. Depending on what you order food was good, service was terrible. Would not recommend.

Terrible fried calamari

Never again! We ordered fried calamari to take away. Since they were not on the menu I asked if they had them, without even asking for the price. They said that certainly they could cook them, I just had to wait for 15 min. After 15 min the box came. It took 2 min to bring it at home, and when we opened it, unbelievable! The calamari were fried in a very thick spicy batter, the calamari were almost inexistent, extremely thin calamari rings with a consistency like plastic. We throw them in the bin

This place is so bad.Firstly , the waitress took our drinks order, then we never got them,after requesting them again, she said she forgot .we ordered our food . my wife pizza arrived, a good 5mins later my salmon arrived, minus the chips, which arrived another 5mins later.the pizza wasn't cooked in the middle,raw dough.sent it back.the salmon was so dry and over cooked,and even the chips were raw in the middle . sent everything back.. no apologies from staff,and I refused to pay for anything other than our drinks. DON'T GO !!!!!!

Worst experience

Me and my family (8 people) visited this restaurant and ordered seafood, but the food was inedible due to the bad taste. The restaurant was dirty, and it was clear that both management and chefs do not care about the quality of the food or the customer experience. Even though we barely touched the food, we were forced to pay 197 euros, and everything went straight into the bin. It seems their only goal is to take your money, not to provide a good experience. We will definitely not be back.
