Very good meal and good service. Family run restaurant. Can be reached from the ferry from Mgarr by foot. 10 minutes walk. At the moment it is closed and will be open again in February

We are frequent visitors to Ta Tona, and I can honestly say that we were never disappointed. The baby calamari are out of this world, and the ribeye steak is the best on the island.

The menu boasted an excellent rating by Tripadvisor. We chose fish soup and pasta with clams. The former was thin and watery with little flavour. On pointing this out we were told that this was according to the traditional recipe. The main course was tasty but with few clams and mostly spaghetti. A bottle of water (promoted immediately on arrival)... More

Thanks for taking time to write a comment. Just to let you know that the fish soup is written on the menu that is cooked the traditional way and we told you about it and a lot of locals they come for it, another thing is that the pasta vongole (clams) you took it was as a starter portion and... This place is by far the best dining experience that you' ll get. It is definitely my favorite seafood place especially when it comes to seafood pasta (highly recommend the pasta sea urchins and Nero do sepia) as well as the hake fish, sea bass, stone bass and grouper. You'll literally notice the fresh taste in fish. For meat lovers,... More

Firstly, the food was fine, although portion sizes were excessive and consequently the bill came to a little more than double that for the menu in the nearby grand hotel. We were pressed by the waiter to upgrade each menu choice we made and we bought food we didn't eat. Throughout the meal I had to contend with a large... More

Staying in Paradise Bay in Mellieha; it was actually easier to get a ferry to Gozo than find somewhere decent to eat on the Malta side. So glad we did as we stumbled on this little gem. It looked the most inviting of the restaurants and was packed - always a good sign in late October. The hosts were really... More

The waiter brought out a tray of fish for to us to select from, and we chose hake. It was delicious, and the outside location, under the stars, was superb. Very friendly service. A busy restaurant, we were lucky to get a table, so would recommend booking in advance.

All the local food, fish and seafood you could wish for at reasonable prices. Very friendly service. Great, fresh quality. No idea why we in England, with a much larger coastline, can't have this kind of a great, simple yet quality seafood restaurant more frequently.

My friend and I had an enjoyable dinner at Ta'Tona. Service is impeccable - staff cannot be more friendly, professional and attentive. A guy showed us the fish they have available that day, recommended the best cooking method for each type of the fish, and clearly told us the price. Service staff came and checked on us from time to... More

Dinner started off great. We let our server know it was our honeymoon and my wife's 30th birthday. Service and food was great till after mains were cleared. Large party came in and we sat there for 35 mins waiting to see a dessert menu and after dinner drink. Nothing! Walked past our table multiple times. I put my hand... More
