This is one of our favourite restaurants in Mellieha. It is close to the beach rather than in the main town and serves amazing Maltese food and fresh fish. The staff are brilliant and have worked there for many years so are happy to make...changes to the menu to suit any fussy eaters. We always come back here when in Malta and are never disappointed!More

Xatba has been our no1 go to Maltese restaurant for many years now and after visiting last night with special friends I am happy to report the amazing standards are more than maintained. We all took octopus starters and rabbit and fish as mains, amazing...food cooked brilliantly. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere a lovely place to relax.....Great stuff , I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Chef Ray is truly a masterMore

The service was excellent and the food was ok. Our son tried the rabbit but he didn’t enjoy it however it did look good. I had the seabream and it was a little bit to oily for me other wise the fish was very nice.

We walked past this restaurant during the day and thought we would check it out on our way back from the beach. Service was great, food was very nice and despite me knocking two drinks over (sorry), they were all very lovely and accommodating. We...turned up just after 6 and managed to get a table, which we were very pleased about considering how full it got later. It’s probably best you book as this restaurant seems to get booked up quite quickly - we saw several people asking during our courses but unfortunately they were fully booked by then.More

Nice cozy restaurant. We take octopus, baked potatoes, vegetables and very good fish soup. Reasonable prices.

Had a meal at this restaurant in Mellieha and have say the service and food are excellent. Sarah and Raymond are such professionals and are ably assisted by the waiting staff who have obviously had good training. Lovely meal and drinks served with a smile...in traditional Maltese surroundings. We will be back to taste more.More

It's not often you can say a restaurant is perfect and I'm not one to over state a case, but, honestly, Ix-Xatba is as good as it gets. My partner and I visit whenever we're on Malta and our clear favourite choice is the peppered...steak. I have never had even a small amount of fat or gristle and the meat has been tender and delicious and the vegetables perfectly cooked, on every occasion. I can also recommend the prawns and mussels. Sarah remembers us and she and husband, Ray, the chef, greet us warmly even though there may be 12 months between visits. Ix-Xatba is, in our opinion, the best on Malta and, after 29 trips to the islands, we have experienced many good restaurants. You won't be disappointed.More
