Been coming here to eat for the last few years and have to say we love it, Sarah and her staff make you very welcome and can't do enough for you, I tend to have the steak or lamb shank or chicken and it is...really really good food, how they are only 10 on the list on here is a odd one as we have eaten at some of the other ones ahead of here can honestly say the food is better here.More

If you are fed up with pizza, pasta and burgers, but fancy some real Maltese food, then you could do no better than trying this family run restaurant. Excellent food with local specialities, reasonable prices, super friendly staff. Out of 6 nights in Malta, we...chose to eat here on 3 of them. Mellieha is quite touristy, and this restaurant was an absolute oasis of calm and flavour. We loved it, all 3 generations of us!More

We reserved via phone, it's a small family place so I recommend it. The food was excellent. Amazing lobster, shellfish, fish and soup. The price is also amazing. Definitely coming back! 🥰

A very good and welcoming restaurant on the main road near Mellieha Bay. It looks small from the outside but cool and quaint inside with perhaps 50 covers inside. (Worth the short walk up the road from Mellieha Bay) The food was excellent, the wine...cheap. (Make sure you try the local wine, you might be surprised) Seafood was great but so was the meat. We went 3 times, sometimes only for a starter to go with a bottle of wine as we had eaten at lunch time. The service was with a smile and often a free plate of garlic bread.More

We thought we would try this local family run restaurant and what a find. The service and the food was excellent. We only ate here most nights unless we stayed in so probably 10 out of our 14 nights. They new our drinks from the...first night including our wine. One of our part was not a big eater and was given a small portion of her choice. I requested tuna which was not on the menu but it was sourced and served to me cooked to perfection. Great place a must try restaurant.More

I reviewed this restaurant in 2015 and visit every year on our return to Malta. The food is consistently of the very highest quality, beautifully cooked and served and Ray and Sarah are always ready to greet us as if we've never been away. Because...we weren't staying locally, we only managed two visits on this occasion, taking friends with us the second time, but a meal at Ix-Xatba is always the highlight of our holidays. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It is 6-star in every category, in my opinion. Hopefully, we will be back in the autumn to savour more of Ray's cooking. Covid rules were close to being relaxed, as it was the end of April, but were adhered to with a high level of cleanliness.More

We found this restaurant by chance a very short walk (4 doors down )from our hotel. We had no idea what it was like as you would dismiss it from the outside, but what a little treasure is inside. It serves mostly Maltese cuisine seafood and fish...all freshly caught that day, does other dishes for those that don't like seafood and they are great too. I worked my way through the menu it is small but so good especially when you find out there is only one chef in the kitchen ( no you don't wait hours for your meal) It was just so relaxing.and enjoyable experience. It is a very busy restaurant so advise to book. This place was one of the things that made our holiday great. I cannot convey just how great this place is go see for yourself you get a welcome and in time your are greeted like friends as you will go back for more. They cater for families large and small on one evening there was a party of 16 and all the meals came out on time and together This is a family run restaurant husband chef Ray wife runs front of house with one other staff yet they make sure that food goes out on time If you want good Maltese food at a reasonable price then visit this place.More

We worked out we first visited this little gem in 89/90 when our son was 2 yrs old. We have visited since but on this occasion we were delighted to not only bring our son and his wife but also our grandson which gave 3...generations around the table. The food and personal service was as always wonderful, the food just marvellous. Thank you so much to the whole team. Oh and it was lovely to see the local produce being delivered each evening.More

We chose this restaurant as we wanted a charge from the all inclusive offering at our hotel. We chose well, largely based on other trip advisor reviews. It’s a small friendly local restaurant offering well cooked and reasonably priced local dishes. We were after a...good seafood option and weren’t disappointed. We shared the octopus starter which was delicious. We then both had the mixed fish option: beautifully cooked sea bass, a large helping of mussels, the biggest prawn we’ve ever seen and a helping of a fish we’d not heard of before - meagre. All were beautifully cooked and the portion size was plentiful. Dishes of vegetables and potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. The locally produced wine was also very good and great value at £15.50 The service was also excellent. Just the right balance of attentive without being OTT. We were given great advice on all dishes. We highly recommend. The restaurant was suffering with reduced bookings following recent changes requiring Covid passes to be shown. Please give them your support if you can.More
