The abomination that was our Christmas Lunch(nearly Boxing Day breakfast. As others have said, we were all told to arrive at 3.30pm there was no Xmas music no crackers on the tables nothing that would make you assuming it was a Xmas lunch at all....Owner was rude bordering on threatening when asked why our lunch was taking over 3hrs to arrive. I'm sorry buy these two should be no where any sort of service industry. The way they spoke to customers was embarrassing. It could have all been dealt with so much more professionally. Just an apology and an offer of a drink on the house would have gone someway to appease people, but when questioned. The answer was "its our Christmas as well you know?" Like we were their friends that had popped in a for quick bite not paying customers. As someone else said we'll probably get a reply saying we were at fault as that seems to be a running theme to their replies Shocking!! Won't be backMore

Found this little gem of a restaurant on our first visit. At that time did not use as all the seats were in the blazing sun and we required some shade… Third visit and we gave it a try! Really enjoyed the coffee and breakfast...rolls. Came back to sample, a full English breakfast And was not disappointed. Excellent service and gets very busy during late morning.More

Since arriving on Thursday I have eaten here every day as it’s one of the few places that has a dedicated vegan/plant based menu. Menu has a good choice from salads to burgers toastier/sandwiched, as well as desserts! Best hand cut and home made chips...ever! Would highly recommend all plant based veggie give this lovely bar a try, support someone who has made a conscious effort to offer a good choice and variety instead of the usual token gesture.More

A friend and I were looking for somewhere to have a nice relaxing evening meal. The service was great. The food was delicious & arrived promptly. The owner had a lovely personal touch. Will be back on this holiday and hopefully many more.

I don't like leaving negative reviews.. but.. the service in this place is unbelievably slow. I don't know if they have staffing issues at the moment, but it just seems to be one guy doing everything. Lots of tables with people either waiting to be...served or for their order. It looks so nice but unfortunately fails to deliver.More

We booked here for Christmas based upon the good reviews...absolutely shocking. We got there for 15:30 waited one hour for starters. These were OK. However the main took another three hours! The children were starving and unfortunately the meal was atrocious. The pigs in blanket...were either raw or burnt...but either way they were all stone cold. Vegetables raw and was hit and miss as to what you had on your plate. One member of our party asked to have the food reheated this took forever and by that point we all decided not to continue eating the main as it was clearly not cooked properly. We didn't complain during the wait and tried to keep in good spirits as it was Christmas day but to be served that meal was the last straw. As mentioned by someone else when we addressed this the owner was very aggressive and rude threatened to call the police if we did not pay what he wanted. We have eaten out on Christmas day for many years and I have never experienced service and attitude like it! I am sure we will have a response trying to justify his inexcusable behaviour but I would warn families not to ruin their Christmas day and book here! I googled best place for breakfast in playa del ingles and thought we would give the English bakery a try ,i had full English breakfast American pancakes with fresh strawberries and my other half had fish & chips. The food was all freshly cooked and...hot and of great quality,we had a fresh smoothie and a frappaccino to drink and again great quality drinks,glad we have found somewhere for breakfast when we visit playa del ingles again and will definitely go back before we leave after the new year celebrations.i would recommend the English bakery if your staying in playa del ingles.More

Christmas dinner. No atmosphere , Bad food, worse service. All diners were told to arrive at 330pm .every table in the place was full. Waited 45 minutes for a very bland prawn cocktail . Then a whopping 3 hour wait for main course . Some...of the tables had their main earlier and we watched as there was a painstakingly slow service where staff seemingly could only manage one or 2 plates at a time. I decided to ask where ours was as we were meeting friends and were already late and got told it was on the way. No apology . The dinner when it finally arrive (without an apology) was awful . Like a bad school dinner . Only the potatoes were hot as they’d been deep fried meaning they were undercooked in the middle. The only reason we ate some is because we were so hungry. We decided to leave before the dessert as there were still tables waiting for main course and we were running very late to meet friends. . We had already paid a deposit of half the bill - so I explained to the owner that we had to leave so we would only be prepared to pay for the drinks we had. I was met by the rudest most aggressive behaviour from him and his partner . They threatened to get security on to me ! One of them shouted and screamed at me and said it was “their Christmas too” . Please do us all A favour next time and shut for the day! No one forced you to open. I’m fully expecting one of their utterly ridiculous responses to bad reviews where they get very personal and attack customers. Tell them that people usually like “lumpy mash” (they don’t) basically they blame the PAYING CUSTOMER. For their own incompetence and bad food. Check your cameras and also many witnesses to your aggressive behaviour. AwfulMore

I’ve never wrote a review before but I think I must on this occasion, starter was fine then a three and half hour wait for dinner just to receive a lunch no one could eat roasters boiling hot, pigs in blankets cold and uncooked if...you had one . His attitude when approached about the situation was aggressive and couldn’t care less approach, he was also abusive to two of the ladies in our group . All in all very very poor ruined our Christmas Day .More

What a great wee place. We discovered by accident on our last day😀😀. However we visit GC a lot so we will be back. Great Service, Freindly and made you feel welcome. Food was amazing with a good extensive menu. We had Fish & Chips...and could not fault it. We also had one of their homemade Scones…. They were brilliant.More

Enjoyed an afternoon in the sun in the English Bakery (in the Yumbo centre) Bar owner and the lady serving us were welcoming and friendly enough. We didn't eat here but those that did were looking as though they were happy, as did a couple...next to us who were having cocktails. Just several beers for us in the sun and a bit of banter with the staff. A very nice afternoon.More

Sometimes you just crave home comforts and this little gem delivers everytime. Good quality ingredients cooked beautifully, friendly staff and great service. The Scones are to die for as are the burgers and don't even get me started on the fish & Chips 😋 you...can probably tell by now that we enjoy the food here. Each time we come to Gran Canaria it is one of our go to places in fact it is one of the reasons we no longer do all inclusive or B&B as the food is just mass produced average quality. Keep up the good work, well be back again in March, August and October 😉More
