We were with 3 and ordered the croquetas. 12 and a if plate of rice was presented. Way too much to finish as the croquetas were huge. Took the remaining onces with us to still have enough space for a dessert. ;-) The starters are not on the menu but as standard a plate with sausages and cheeses are gives.... More

Nice design and decoration. Good staff and reasonable quality/price ratio. Good atmosphere and well situated for monastery visitors.

I did not expect to find such food in side street of Alcobaca. It started with excellent offer of couvert, followed by tasty fish and at the end when they brought plate of samples of cakes, anybody could have said no! :-) Everybody visiting Alcobaca should go there! It is like a must, next to visit of beautiful monestary. Have... More

This is one of the best restaurants we have eaten in Portugal. The food is just so good and simple and tasty. Steaks are rare if you order them rare so if you love blood on your plate, go there! Chicken in a pot is perfect soft and the recommended red wine is a winner. Did I mention the appetizers?... More

Found the place thru tripadvisor and was surprised. Food was excellent, as already reviewed here. But the place is really surprising. The walls decorations are special and really worth a visit. Although one is tempted to stay inside in the summer I'd suggest you do go downstairs to check the place out. And do not refuse the antipasti offered, it... More

We loved your Octopus with sweet potatoes and Steak with port saus. The steak was very tender and beautifully pink on the inside, cooked to perfection. The saus complimented the steak perfectly. The dish with Octopus and sweet potatoes was delicious, the octopus was very tender en seasoned fantastically. The staf was very friendly and helpful, service was correct and... More

Abusive treatment because of our speaking English. Went to this restaurant with my wife on the advice of Trip advisor reviewers. Our dining experience was constantly interrupted by a man who was on very friendly terms with the waiters. He would stop them as they tried to deliver meals. The man involved seems to be very friendly with the staff... More

I know exactly what you mean, but you can´t say that we were rude becouse you didn´t speak Portuguese. we have three waiters who speak fluente English, you were served by one of them all the time. I´m sorry that you didn´t speak at the time, we would have done everything to make you feel more confortable ( we woud... More

Arrived to the restaurant following Tripadvisor's reviews on a late afternoon. We were told we had to wait , which we did . However and despite of having two empty rows of tables downstairs , no one seemed to care. Wait took longer than initially told and eventually , since apparently there wad no interest, we left. I've been to... More

They serve well cooked traditional portuguese food, but the service is too pushy. The ambience is nice, but on the noisy side. Desserts were allright. The really down point is the starters - bellow average and way too expensive.

Probably the best restaurant in Alcobaça. The room is underground but nicely decorated. Serves the local "Frango na Pucara" very well.
