I had a meal here during the summer of 2020. The place was crowded and fully booked, but they managed to get me a table within 30 minutes. The waiting time was spent sampling their beers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is exceptional, and the...food is tasty. Definitely worth a trip while in Flåm.More

Amazing place and crew! A Must stop and a must eat and drink place wherever direction you come from. We had two evenings with probably the best meals and joy I have had in many years, including a lot of distant places! The place itself...is amazing with open fire and lay-out. If you add very nice, joyful and proffesional staff it all ends up with an adventure in food and drinks. Best fish meal in Norway and the best pig dish ever! Will be back!!!More

We visited this Viking-ish restaurants two nights in a row with totally different experiences. The first night, excellent food but awful service and we felt more or less on an assembly line..... It was a busy night they told us, but the restaurant was not...ful at all. The room was also very, very noicy. The second night was excellent in all aspects. We had the Viking Plank, a five-course beer and food menu. Everything tasted wounderful and the service this night was excellent.More

Really enjoyable experience, and most recommended! Do book, as popular! The pub and restaurant are in a lovely wooden Viking Hall with great atmosphere, good service and excellent beer and food! We went for the beer tasting platter with matching taster menu of local food....Both divine! The beers ranged from light to dark and had good subtle flavours. The food was seasonal local fare, with seafood and meat, finishing with a chocolate ganache. Vegetarian alternatives and also helpful with allergies. I’m not a great beer drinker but really enjoyed the generous 5 samples of the wonderful and very tasty beers. The matching meal was equally good. Really is a must do!More

Family meal here in August. Not much option for eating out in the evening... other places closed likely due to corona virus. Very strange booking procedure .., if you’re not staying in the attached hotel, you need to put your name on a waiting list....You can only do this from 5pm on the day you want to eat. We put our names down at 5pm and were told to come back at 7pm ... we were able to have a drink in the bar and then got a table at 7.25 which was perfect. Did notice the poor waiter on the door getting a lot of grief from other potential diners about the waiting system and time taken to get tables. The menu was varied ... we had 3 Viking plates (husband had the accompanying tasting beers, my son & myself didn’t and they just took 150 krona off the price). Daughter had the children’s Viking plate which she thoroughly enjoyed. Plates excellent ... shellfish, smoked deer, fish soup, pork shank, chocolate cake.More

It's a very noisy place but cosy. The food was good and the portions was large. Unfortunately the service seem like that get a table free for the next customer and not focus on the current customer, just one example is that I had my...empty beer glass and she picks it up and walk away not asking do I want another one - I have not gotten my food yet.... If you want coffee please remember to ask for sugar or milk if needed - the waitress will not ask.... The girl that follow us up walk like zombie... We were warn that their were busy and it could take sown time to get the food- and yes it did - about an 45 minutes. However the restaurant was not full - so why could they be busy? Can I recommended this place? I do not sure....More

We ate here during our stay in Flam and it was absolutely amazing! Such a wonderful, cosy little pub with a large restaurant area upstairs. Fantastic beer tasting in the pub and Viking menu upstairs. My partner had the Viking plank, offering 5 courses paired...with 5 different beers - fantastic! Incredible food and even better service! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and were happy to share local knowledge with us. Five stars hands down!More

A slightly artificial over-the-top viking vibe with overworked and slightly too efficient staff that doesn't have time to talk you properly through your dishes. Being a brew pub I had assumed that the staff was interested in giving details about the beers, but any details...had to be extracted by brute force. The food is excellent, and Ægir has one of Norway's top 5 beer lineup.More

Beware the guy who works the front door is extremely selective on who he serves. He will ignore you and others for hours even if he puts your name down on a hand written “list”. Horrible experience and if you do indeed wait in line,...the kitchen will close and the guy will just smoke cigarettes and drink with his friends. Full story below We came around 19:30 on 30.7.2020 and were told it would be a 2-3 hour wait. That wasn’t a problem, the beer was good and we didn’t mind waiting around a bit. The kitchen closes at 22:00, but we were told that as long as we are on the list we were good. 22:30 comes around and we haven’t seen or heard from the guy holding the list for more than 20 minutes at that point, and when we inquired were told that the kitchen was closed and the list was “already handled”. We literally waited around for over 3 hours on their “list” to be completely skipped over with no other food options available in the entire town. The guy holding the list absolutely noticed we were still there as we told him we would let him know if we decided to leave. They never called our names and never approached us one for our table. All in all we were left hungry and annoyed that now we have no option but to go to bed hungry. The list guy spent the later half of the night hanging out with his friends smoking cigarettes and sipping his friends beer. We attempted to make a reservation earlier in the day and were told no availability was left but we were welcome to join the wait “list”. I recommend you completely avoid the restaurant if you don’t have a reservation, their system is broken for the wait list and there will be no other places to get food by the time you find out you have no other option. Very unimpressed by the unprofessional nature of this. You will be left in Flåm hungry, tired, and just upset if you rely on this place for dinner.More
