We found this little hidden gem after coming back from Rome one night. We google places to eat and the first place we walked to ( not wanting to give up our parking spot at the train station) we where not dressed up enough for....Around the corner on a dead end street was this little hidden gem. You can tell the min you walk in that this is where the locals eat. It was packed and for good reason. The food was priced well, the food was superb and the house wine delish. Only one server spoke some English but we were able to order dinner in such a busy place. The service is slow as this place is super busy . But Italians are not fast paced so don't expect to dine and dash. My husband had lamb, my friend had fish and I had flat steak with arugula and cheese on top ( no it was not weird it was actually delightful). My son had Pizza. Dinner was probably a 3 hr affair and with good wine it was nice to not be rushed. The place was clean and decorated well. It felt like you were at home eating. Another great place to eat outside Rome.More

Service wasn't perfect, but the dishes made this nuisance irrelevant. I ate a delicious "cacio e pepe": creamy pasta with cheese and pepper, and then "straccetti alla romana": beef meat with salad and tomatoes.

We did a wine tour at DeSanctis and asked for a recommendation for a place to eat. Really glad we took his recommendation. It took a little to find the resto, but was worth it ultimately. Bruschetta was the best we encounter. All of the...main courses were great. All 4 of us were very satisfied.More

The first time I ate at Al Cortiletto I was searching for a nice restaurant to organize a group lunch for friends. My first experience there was so wonderful that I decided to go there again and again until the final date came! Everytime it...was perfect: the owner is an adorable woman who always paid attention constantly to my table; the food is just AMAZING (you can really feel the genuine flavours of the Castelli Romani area); and the atmosphere is really picturesque. I must also say the prices are more than fair for such a high level of service. I would recommend Al Cortiletto to anyone I know. Don't miss it if you're in this area located south of Rome. Thanks you so much, guys!More

Restaurant is off the beaten path but well worth a visit. The lady who took our order had limited English but made every effort to ensure we understood the menu. The food was delicious and plentiful. Atmosphere was relaxing and we enjoyed visit. I've seen...a few previous comments on the waitress being rude but I believe it all down to a language barrier as she gets frustrated if she cannot understand you. She had a problem with someone in our group and asked me to tell that person to stop talking to her as she couldn't understand her. Accept there will be a language barrier and enjoy the good food.More

Wanting to eat Pizza on one of the nights we stayed in the area our hotel, Villa Grazioli, recommended that we try here. Slightly off the beaten track and not as easy to find as others it provides everything you want and need of a...typical 'll fashioned' type trattoria. Family run but with a very professional approach the menu while not large has many specialties from Rome and the region. From what we could ascertain all dishes are prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients. The food could not be faulted with dishes to suit all tastes, the pizza we ate here accompanied with local wine was one of the highlights of the holiday. With tables both inside and out the location while not having the views other restaurants can boast the ambience is second to none. Similarly service was attentive and helpful without being over intrusive. The fact that the restaurant was packed with Italians is recommendation in itself. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there the following night. If there is one place in Frascati you should eat then let it be this one!More

I spent a week in Frascati and ate at different restaurants each night. At the end of the week, I returned to my favorite, Al Cortiletto. The restaurant is a bit off the busy central section of town, not far from the train station. Operated...by a mother-daughter team, the food was great, the service friendly, and the interior is pleasantly decorated. I liked the high ceilings. There is an area upstairs, but it was not used while we were there. Perhaps it is for reserved groups or very busy occasions. The noise level is low, and there were many couples having quiet dinners together. Our Italian is very limited, but our server spoke excellent English and was quite helpful. Highly recommended.More
