Great pub food, with excellent, friendly service and a lovely ambience. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

Quiet at lunchtime, we fancied 2 x ploughman's, not on the menu, but the chef was happy to accommodate and made it to the closest she could, was good but expensive £35.40 for 2 x ploughman's and 4 drinks

My husband and I were just out on a Sunday drive & feeling hungry. We saw signs from the main road for The Crown Country Inn and decided to follow unsure of what we would find. We came to a beautiful pub, it didn't have its own car park but this wasn't a problem as there were plenty of spaces... More

Spontaneous visit after a walk. Refreshing beers, good selection and enjoyed. Light lunch which was very tasty, generous & well-presented. Comfy chairs in traditional environment... fire not lit but not a cold day. Dog-friendly (well-behaved). Excellent loos. All clean & welcoming.

It started well. We were shown to our table by a polite young man in a friendly and professional manner. The menus and drinks arrived promptly. After this it went down hill. It took 35 minutes for the starters to arrive. We received an apology for the delay- fair enough. Unfortunately it then took another half hour plus from our... More

Visited for dinner and the food was amazing. I had the gammon steak and my boyfriend had the rump steak. Both were cooked to perfection and the chips and onion rings were amazing too. We both had chocolate fudge cake for dessert which was preserved impressively and tasted soooo good!! The staff were really friendly too. Would definitely come back!!

Stayed with family in High Newton , so this is the local pub ! Thankfully it was just what we were expecting from an English pub ! Great atmosphere, friendly locals, the live music on Friday night was just magic !! ( although this isn't set in stone yet, I don't think) but it really made a difference, the place... More

We chanced on here to stop for a late lunch on our journey back home from The Lakes. There was plenty of seating outside but we decided to sit in the window seat inside, which is done in an olde worlde style. The food took a while to come but it was worth waiting for. Cumberland sausages, mash and veg... More
