Our previous visit to Marney's was very good so we were looking forward to a lovely Sunday lunch in the garden. All three of us ordered the roast beef and although the vegetables were delicious especially the cauliflower cheese all the beef was beyond rare...More

Lovely Sunday roast with quality ingredients. Warm cozy atmosphere in a pretty setting. Most importantly, there was a problem with our reservation and, despite the pub being quite crowded, the landlord accommodated us with good grace and a warm smile. Easy to see why Marney's...More

Arrived at 14:15 - no problem ordering food. Whitebait very crispy and tasty, Pate and toast well received, Hummus well cooked and a Vegan dish was created for one of our group. All good. We will be back.

Out for one of my many lonely Saturday walks, I decide to pop into the local watering hole for "just one beer". Amidst the buzzing garden, I smelt smoke. Not cigarette smoke, wood smoke. Fire?! I thought, but no one was panicking. Half a pint...More

Popped in for a coffee. No welcome whatsoever. An older guy asked what I wanted but didn't seem to know how to make a coffee. A younger chap was slightly more welcoming and made the coffee which was fine. Smiles are in short supply round...More

We visited as a large group for lunch and were warned that there would be a 45 minute wait for food, however, food came very quickly and we weren't disappointed when it arrived. Staff were friendly and accommodating, clearing the tables quickly so that the...More

Great beer. Friendly staff. Great to sit outside in the beer garden on a warm summer night. Also great in winter.

A proper English country pub that oozes old-fashioned charm, low-beamed ceilings, wooden farmhouse tables and cosy fireplace.Overlooking a pond with an attractive church on its far bank and the public golf course beyond, the pub does indeed have a village feel, but it's also easily accessible from central London with fast trains from Waterloo to Esher taking only 20 minutes. If you are planning a day trip to Hampton Court, it's worth the five-minute drive down the road. Our home-made food is tasty and tempting; the type you just want to get stuck into on a winter's day - soup of the day, deep-fried camembert, hot baguettes, steak and ale pie, chilli, not to mention our popular Sunday roast - but summer weekends are also filled with barbecues and jugs of Pimm's in our pretty garden with its outside bar. There's a wonderful selection of wines and, as the nights draw in, fireworks and the festive season provide lots of opportunities to warm up over a glass of the mulled stuff.
