We had a dinner in the restaurant during our stay in Svinøya in July. The food was excellent, the best we had in Norway. We ordered three different meals and all were delicious. The desserts are worth to try, too:) We would like to commend...More

Others didn't. Service was very nice, but food didn't altogether meet expectations. The Baked arctic char tasted a bit salty and it was cured in cider and that combination wasn't a succes either. But the Norwegian halibut tested great. But loose the foie gras. Its...More

cosy restaurant in old style with friendly staff but rather limited menu (a few fish dishes and 1 meat - lamb dish). Good quality food however but very expensive wine list (even to Norwegian standards). Worthwhile a visit !

We chose this restaurant for a very special celebratory day on our trip. Read the reviews and the promises so we were quite excited to have a special experience. Walking in, the room was exactly as promised. Classic, atmospheric and rustic. "YES!" We thought. It's...More

Exacting preservation of a wonderful old building. Friendly professional service and fantastic food. The brandade and bacalao were my favourites.

Based in what was the town's original shop there are plenty of signs of the area's primary industry - fishing. The setting is charming and relaxing with attentive but not intrusive service.

Dinner was edible but unremarkable. Fish is primarily your choice. The reindeer was interesting as we hadn't tried it before, nice gamey flavor. The ambiance was romantic and our waitress went out of her way for us. We just felt the price was a tad...More

The old interior and rustic atmosphere is followed up by good food and service. The menu is relatively small and focused on fresh local ingredients – mostly fish. Don’t be surprised and disappointed, if your choice is no longer available. The wine list is not...More

We were staying at the Rorbuer and tried this place for dinner one night. The salmon appetizer was some of the best salmon I’ve ever had. My friend had the reindeer which I tried and it was delicious (sorry Rudolph). I had the fish of...More

Fishrestaurant with stockfish as our speciality Svinoya Rorbuer includes one of the most distinctive restaurants in the Lofoten Islands. The "Borsen Spiseri" is housed in a venerable quayside warehouse dating back to 1828, and considerable emphasis has been placed on maintaining the building's original features. Most of the building's historical attributes have been preserved, providing an atmosphere with an aroma of tar and rope. The dishes that are served here, are made from Lofoten's unique and fresh, local ingredients. Borsen Spiseri is open every day 18:00 - 22:00 and have 120 seats! Borsen Spiseri fit for any occasion Whether you come alone, with your family, friends or with all your colleagues, we guarantee to do our utmost to ensure that you will be satisfied. Guaranteed unique and fresh, local ingredients Both meat and fish dishes are served here, made from Lofoten's unique and fresh, local ingredients. Our focus is on local produce and our speciality is stockfish delivered from the fish factory 50 meters away. In the same building we find the former "krambua" or old general store, which is a tiny museum in its own right. Old wares and equipment from bygone times still hang from the ceiling there, taking you 100 years back in time.
