The great location right at the beach and beautiful sunsets visible from this place alone are a reason to visit it at least once while on the island of Vlieland. While it is big and was very busy around dinner time the service and speed of service were pretty good. Staff is mostly young and international. The food was good as well although the menu could be more original (eg offering more local options/creative dishes and less of the standard dishes available anywhere in the Netherlands). Prices are high (like anywhere on the Dutch islands). Dogs are allowed /welcome here.

It started out by serving us a lukewarm beer! The expensive glass is white wine we ordered was not poured at the table, makes you wonder?!?! Which wine did they give me? Food was ok but expensive, service people were inexperienced. Too bad!

place is massive, lots of tables and has outdoor seating. it's by the beach which makes it attractive.
food was not exceptional, just decent.

To start with the positives. The restaurant is big and tastefully decorated in a rustic lounge, beach club style. Right on the beach with spectacular views of waves and sunsets. Service is friendly, swift and attentive. Toilets fine.
However, the quality and creativity of the kitchen is a true let down and the term ‘tourist trap’ comes to mind. Carpaccio and fresh bread OK. Main course kibbeling (deep fried fish nuggets) and pizza carbonara OK. But the sea bass absolutely lacked any flavour, not even salt or pepper. And the BBQ procureur, supposedly a steak glazed with mustard and honey, was so dry and flavourless and had the appearance of overcooked pork chops instead of juicy BBQ steak. When asked if all was OK, this was also mentioned to our waiter.
For dessert the menu showed a ‘sinaasappel magnum’ with ‘dulce de leche’. We ordered this, not ever imagining that this was literally a Magnum ice cream popsicle of orange and vanilla flavour, put to rest on a plate with some garnish around it (see photo). When eating the ice cream we all noticed a strong fishy smell, so we imagine they store ice cream and frozen seafood in the same freezer. To top it off the bill had extra beer and wine items that we did not order.
At check out this all was mentioned. Let’s hope they take these remarks serious and improve we quickly, because this restaurant’s setting deserves a much better kitchen. For us the food was unfortunately a big disappointment.

Good decor and atmosphere, however, the food price / quality was poor. I ordered the mixed grill skewer which was VERY meager, with more sauces than anything else. The accompanying French fries were mostly made up with small pieces of friet from the bottom of the pan. The dessert “Dame Blanche” was terrible, comprising almost melted ice cream as if it had been standing for 15 minutes.. Such a shame, the meal could have been so much more if given a bit more care and better main meal portion sizing. All in all, during this visit we experienced an overpriced / below expected quality meal

All food “smells “ fresh
Steaks need to try definitely.
Brand-new menu.( seafood, steaks ,kids menu..)
Age steaks.
Nice view sea salt.

Especially lovely for kids as they can play in the corner. The staff was very friendly and the food was quite good and fast at the table. Even when the restaurant was quite full.

Trendy location just outside of the Westcord hotel. Busy restaurant with good food and friendly personnel.
At dinner I ate the mixed grill which was really tasty and a good amount of food. For lunch I had the pulled pork hot dog which was also really tasty. Location was really busy with good personnel. So I would approve this location.

Great location! Very fancy place for a beach restaurant. It even has electric glass sliding doors at the entrance! :-/ The ambition is high with an expensive building and high prices for the food. Unfortunately the service does not match that level. Staff is mostly students who do not have a good overview. For example. New drinks will be served but empty glasses will not be taken back at the same time.
Could be a much more enjoyable place with professional staff!

Incredibly beautiful beach-restaurant. Probably one of the most beautiful I have seen in NL so far. However, there is a catch, service & food is average however prices are not.
Pity, this could be the best place in Vlieland.

This Brasserie/Bar with a fantastic view on the Beach and North Sea, is hudge and well organised. The menu gives a good choice of dishes and beverages. The service is mostly in hands of students which is normal I would say, but has it's consequences service wize.... but all in all very nice atmosphere !

Visited for drinks on our first day on the island and decided to book dinner for the following night as well due to our positive first impression!

Set at a beautifull location, very stylish and trendy interior, comfrtable terrace shielded from the wind with fantastic views of the beach and sea. The staff is very friendly and the menu looks promising. Then why still only 2 stars? Because the food is just not good. The meat was tasteless and dry, the scampi's had been far too long in the ,freezer, the salad just tastes like sharp onions. Maybe the cook was ill or had a bad day, but we found it just a shame for such a nice place.

We just had a 3 night stay at Vlieland at the strandhotel and went here 2 nights for dinner and one afternoon for the sunny terrace when we returned from the Vliehors Express which stops right in front. Their Hugo and Aperol Spritz are lovely cocktails. My kids enjoyed the kibbeling (fried pieces of fish in batter) and I loved the beef burger from the grill. My husband liked the blue cheese salad. The bar is a nice sight to hang out after a long walk on the beach.
The beach club is easily accessible by bike/bus or walk and is located right behind the dune.
