Decent lunch

We received a warm welcome and we were seated in the front dining room which seemed a bit formal as it was lunchtime. We were brought a complimentary orange and olive oil salad. We decided on the set menu which came with a generous carafe of wine. We chose the gazpacho and revuelto for starters... read more

This is a quiet and somewhat elegant place with very attentive staff. We started with the house orange salad. I had a garlic soup followed by grilled lamb, which were both excellent. My companion ordered migos (tasty but very filling) and a lovely lamb stew. The house wine is quite nice, with layers of flavor and some vegetal notes.

After visiting Roman Amphitheater and Temple of Diana, we came to small Tabula Calda Casa de Comidas for lunch. It served good food had good service. The owner was very proud of their stuff and friendly explained the uniqueness of the meat/vegetables/fruit. The restaurant seemed to be converted from old house.

After visiting the various Roman sites we strolled to the bridge and looked for a decent place to have lunch. In the area of the Amfi theater we only saw tourist settings, which we had decided to better skip than be sorry. So we strolled through onwards towards the bridge and came across Tabula Calda. After lunch we were surprised... More

A great restaurant in Mérida! The food is all sourced from the restaurants' own farm or from within 100km of its location! The complimentary Sephardic orange and olive oil salad is delicious and the owner, Manuel, is one of the friendliest people we met on our trip. He welcomes you to the restaurant like he is welcoming you to his... More

We really enjoyed our weekday lunch here. We were warmly greeted at the door by the friendly and chatty owner Manolo. (He playfully referred to me as the American Boy). The restaurant is situated in an old Roman house not far from the Roman Museo. The restaurant is divided into 3 parts: a colorful front dining room (it almost felt... More

We went on the off chance, but it was the weekend and we should've booked. The owner took pity on us and we sat on a comfortable sofa for half an hour in a corridor full of baskets of local produce from their kitchen garden - onions, tomatoes, kale, marrows, courgettes, aubergine - until a table became free. The restaurant... More

What a find! The restaurant is in an old house with roman and arabic remains. Beautiful dining room with great food at a reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere even though we were the only diners that evening !!! The young waiter was so friendly and at the end of our meal we were given a tour of the building. A must... More

Proper Spanish restaurant in lovely old house. Extremely friendly and attentive owners and staff serving up traditional and home-made food (and drink) in a quiet dining experience. Well worth a visit.

We visited this restaurant for the second time in two years, the welcome and the service so friendly and attentive. The dining room has a lovely feel to it. My wife was delighted by the down to earth straight from the garden approach to the menu, lovely fresh veg and salads, simply but properly prepared, we shared a fish stew... More
