Unlike some reviewers on here, we found the service to be charming at La Carbona, and we ate here three times during our stay in Jerez. The place is enormous, a former bodega, and we've never seen quite so many bottles of booze in one place. Everywhere you look there seems to be another rack. Be aware that as this... More

First - yesterday I had several documents and TripAdvisor windows open and scrambled content for my review of La Carbona and a restaurant we'd eaten at the previous night. When I realised my mistake I used TA's "remove" request, which isn't executed immediately, so I didn't post this corrected review lest it be removed, leaving my initial review. I apologise... More

Waiters/waitresses were young and attentive. Meal was delicious, washed down by a beautiful bottle of Spanish wine. Great surroundings and atmosphere. Recommended

We chose this restaurant based on the TA reviews . The entrance is lovely as is the welcome but it stopped from there . The restaurant is huge and have many group visits but in our opinion is a tired old establishment that needs an update . The food and service were just ok and they seem to be living... More

Great idea for Jerez tourists: they offer a 5-course tasting menu with each course accompanied by a glass of Sherry! And given the price of 38€, they do a great job. Especially the meat (chuletón de vaca) was exceptional. Service was OK, although it feels strange that they all wear headsets to communicate with the kitchen or some coordinator.

It's inappropriate for a presumably classy restaurant to charge one and a half euros for three small slices of bread (shared by two diners), and another one and a half euros for another three small slices. The entrecot was good meat, but fatty, and the "roast" lamb tasted as if it had first been boiled to make it tender. There... More

This is our second visit and unfortunately the quality of the food and especially the staff was not as good. No welcome on arrival, no smiles at any time, no asking if our meal was OK and no good bye when we left. The starter was nice, we had the cod salad, but the main meal was poor quality. I... More

A lovely day for four. Starting with a tour of Bodega Diez Merito and sherry tasting, we were guided to the market for a fun tour and then to La Carbonna for a class with Chef Jabier Munoz and then a four course lunch with wine. A perfect day in Jerez.

Booked this restaurant on the back of its Trip Advisor rating, & it is certainly worthy of it. We booked months ahead for a Saturday night & glad we did as, by the time we left, the place was full. Booked for 8.00pm which is early in Spain; restaurant really got going around 9.30pm. Not in the best part of... More

La Carbona is situated in centro storico in Jerez in a lovely building that was formerly a sherry bodega. The entertainment came in the form of the first dish that arrived. It was so far removed from what we were expecting it was, let's just say, curious. A cocktail glass arrived with the oddest looking moving items on top of... More
