Beautiful 16th century pub with 4 en suite B&B rooms, local beers, private dinning area and a newly refurbished restaurant. A perfect place to have food and cosy up by our original fire place Open everyday. Food times 12-3, 6-9 Tuesday to Saturday & 12-6 on Sundays.
The service was excellent from start to finish. The food disappointing, it is pub grub not gastropub food therefore not such good value for money. My husband's steak was inedible but this was handled well by the waitress, but it should not have been sent...More
Used to be top end fine dining but has recently changed hands and is now more of a relaxed environment serving pub food.
We went for an evening meal and we were happy with the service and the food.
If you go without high expectations...More

I visited with a friend mid week, the pub had one other table in for dinner. The barman was friendly but that was as good as it got. I ordered the fish and chips, the chips were anemic and just cooked and the batter on...More

Great pub in lovely village location. Have been several times recently - food and service always excellent. Recently refurbished to a high standard inside, with a charming beer garden overlooking the village cricket pitch outside. The option to book a room and stay the night...More

Fantastic venue for a gathering of family and friends. We had been planning this 60th celebration for a while and the staff were so helpful in offering advice and taking on our suggestions too. Started with welcome drinks and chat while we enjoyed watching the...More
The pub changed hands some months ago and had a refurbishment (new flooring/furniture) and still has the same character as a building, but the food is no longer as sophisticated as it once was.
We've eaten here several times since the new management took over,...More

We have always enjoyed the log fire when visiting The Crown during the cooler months. We were disappointed by our experience when last we visited, after the ownership change. Restricted menu, lack of attention to detail, so maybe the new management do not think that the atmosphere afforded by a log fire is important.

I do not recall presence of dogs either in the bar or the restaurant. Perhaps a call to Crown would be advisable. BTW Mark the chef has retired and there is a new chef and I hope he/she will be as good as Mark.
