During the summer, The Oar, being the only restaurant at the Boat Basin is bustling, especially on a rainy day. Off season, and on a nice day, it is a delight. The staff is accommodating and the views from their extensive outdoor picnic tables and Adirondack chairs a pleasure. Always great is their sushi. Dogs are welcomed outside and the... More

The Oar is two restaurants in one. There is the indoor bar/dining room that is sheltered from the elements and then there is the spacious lawn that has a series of picnic tables with umbrellas to shelter you from the sun and lawn chairs. All of this sits on a bluff that overlooks the New Harbor – what a view!... More

If you enjoy a restaurant that pulls all there food out of a freezer or 5 gallon jar this place is for you. Oh ya...if you have a boat and want to dock there...it's $10 an hour. we were at the dock for 11/2 hours and they demanded $20 away. Bad attitude!!

Consistently great-go for an afternoon, sit at the bar or outside on the chairs and order mudslides and sushi. Try to catch sushi happy hour (3-5pm).

After sailing from Westerly in our 25 foot Catalina there is no greater pleasure to set your feet back on land and enjoy the view from The Oar overlooking the pretty harbor. Cold beer and tasty food could not be any better. Friendly staff and viewing hundreds of oars bring to my imagination what stories they must tell!

Great place....had to wait to sit out on the deck. Seated right away inside or could have sat at picnic tables on the lawn. Really cool place inside....oars all over the place. We enjoyed our food here, would go back there!

Visited The Oar while docking at The Boat Basin. The Oar overlooks the basin, so it's a very view. For lunch on a Friday it was an hour wait, but we waited. The food was average/good, but definitely a good lunch stop. We ordered burgers, sushi and fish tacos. The fish tacos were the best of all our meals. The... More

We were told it would be an hour wait and then it went to 3 minutes if we would sit inside. No problem for us, a cool breeze and wide open views anyway. We sat for quite a while waiting to be approached by a wait person. When we asked the host if someone was assigned to our table we... More
