When in New Harbor, the absolute best place for lunch on a sunny day and drinks and an appetizer for sunset. You have to have their world famous mudslide at least once in your life. Been going here for probably 40 years; always by boat, first with my folks, then friends and finally my own family. Our kids love the... More

Their food is not the only amazing thing about The Oar there is a beautiful view of the water and the decorated Ores covering up the whole restaurant is so original. I go there every summer when i go to visit the island and every year I look forward to the amazing restaurant.

Of course they're known for their mudslides, and it's fun to see all of the decorated oars covering the place. I recommend their caesar wraps - it's cool how you can choose your protein, the lettuce is very fresh, and you won't be hungry. Their mozzarella sticks are also delicious.

Stopped in for a few beers after a walk around the island. Genuinely friendly staff and the selection of beers on offer was pretty decent too! Sat out on the law over looking the water & boats, couldn't have been more of a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

This restaurant - an airy, covered deck overlooking New Harbor, on the west side of Block Island - is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset over the water and the sailboats at their moorings. Went to this restaurant with a dozen friends who were attending the same wedding the next day. Seems that for the prices charged for drinks... More

A group of 7 of us called Saturday evening for a meal. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. There are oars hung all over the place where people have bought team along, signed and decorated them and they have been hung up on display. We had a mixture of most of the sushi starters which we all... More

A group of 3 couples stopped here for drinks & 🍣 because w had rented a slip at the boat harbor for the weekend. The food, service & drinks were great. Price was acceptable for where we were at. We all would surely go back again.

It is worth visiting the Oar Restaurant just to see over 1000 oars hanging all over the walls, ceiling, and hallways, donated by customers over the years. It also has a great view of the water. We were there for dinner, our server was great, dinner was good but not exceptional. Overall we were satisfied with our dining experience.

Very Friendly staff. Good food, generous portions at affordable prices, and best mudslides ever! Sat at bar, so no wait time was an added bonus.

Casual and relaxed atmosphere. We tried 4 different meals and everyone enjoyed theirs. We decided to drink our dessert and ordered their Famous Frozen Mudslides...the BEST ever!
