Stopped in for a few beers after a walk around the island. Genuinely friendly staff and the selection of beers on offer was pretty decent too! Sat out on the law over looking the water & boats, couldn't have been more of a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

This restaurant - an airy, covered deck overlooking New Harbor, on the west side of Block Island - is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset over the water and the sailboats at their moorings. Went to this restaurant with a dozen friends who were attending the same wedding the next day. Seems that for the prices charged for drinks... More

A group of 7 of us called Saturday evening for a meal. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. There are oars hung all over the place where people have bought team along, signed and decorated them and they have been hung up on display. We had a mixture of most of the sushi starters which we all... More

A group of 3 couples stopped here for drinks & 🍣 because w had rented a slip at the boat harbor for the weekend. The food, service & drinks were great. Price was acceptable for where we were at. We all would surely go back again.

It is worth visiting the Oar Restaurant just to see over 1000 oars hanging all over the walls, ceiling, and hallways, donated by customers over the years. It also has a great view of the water. We were there for dinner, our server was great, dinner was good but not exceptional. Overall we were satisfied with our dining experience.

Very Friendly staff. Good food, generous portions at affordable prices, and best mudslides ever! Sat at bar, so no wait time was an added bonus.

Casual and relaxed atmosphere. We tried 4 different meals and everyone enjoyed theirs. We decided to drink our dessert and ordered their Famous Frozen Mudslides...the BEST ever!

During the summer, The Oar, being the only restaurant at the Boat Basin is bustling, especially on a rainy day. Off season, and on a nice day, it is a delight. The staff is accommodating and the views from their extensive outdoor picnic tables and Adirondack chairs a pleasure. Always great is their sushi. Dogs are welcomed outside and the... More

The Oar is two restaurants in one. There is the indoor bar/dining room that is sheltered from the elements and then there is the spacious lawn that has a series of picnic tables with umbrellas to shelter you from the sun and lawn chairs. All of this sits on a bluff that overlooks the New Harbor – what a view!... More
