Very varied menu including several main courses for vegetarian. We all had different starters, main courses and a sweet, coffee to finish. Food was amazing, delicious, served on hot plates. Staff were very helpful. Lovely drive up to this famous site on what was a beautiful day.

Called in on a Monday with no reservation. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Very smart interior - loved the wrought iron tables and chairs and green tartan carpet ! Good choice of dishes and specials. Very nicely cooked food reasonable prices and very friendly service. Thank you for a lovely evening. Beautiful views in a very... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem and it is well worth making the trip. The food is always excellent. The menu hasn't changed for years but there is always a large specials board with a wide variety of meat and fish dishes. There are two vegetarian options but one is always the ubiquitous vegetarian risotto which is why only 4... More

We are a local family and were entertaining a family from Spain – their first experience of a restaurant in Scotland. As eating together as a family is so important in Spain, we were keen that it would be special for them. I knew from the moment we arrived that no one would be disappointed. Moira, Geoff and their daughter... More

We visited The Sheriffmuir Inn for lunch yesterday and what a treat. It is isolated but worth travelling to and the scenery only adds to the experience. Food was excellent coupled with friendly efficient service and value for money could not be faulted. Haggis as a starter is spot on and two of our party had venison which they much... More

As everyone no doubt it.... Stopped off here for coffee and a soft drink. Last ate in the Inn in September 2014. I like the location and the decor. It feels like a drovers inn - which i imagine is intentional. Service was good when we were in. Have been to the Inn on and off since the early 80's.... More

This place was odd as it was in the middle of nowhere, but it was also only 5 minutes away from the city. Definitely off the beaten path, but the food was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful, it kind of felt like eating at a family member's house because of how friendly and cozy the place was. Had a... More

Had a great meal last night with friends. All was fresh and hot. Nothing on the menu was your average pub fayre. All we had was different, wholesome and tasty. We each had something different and when each dish arrived the thought "I wish I'd ordered that" always went through our heads. Staff wee attentive but not overbearing. Great night.

Nipped along on a very wet Sunday afternoon after reading some of the reviews..... and I wasn't disappointed......... The food and service was excellent........ they even let dogs in which is a plus for me and Dash the chocolate lab was so well behaved but only with a wee bit of food bribery. I'd go back

How to have a tasty meal in the middle of no-where. An old drovers stop, this inn provides some excellent grub. Medium portion sizes allow for 3 course meals with all the taste to match. Well presented, very helpful staff. Recommended.
