A nice restaurant, with great value for money. The food was decent - not exceptional, but certainly ok - but what really made Gozitan shine was the service. The chemistry amongst the staff was palpable, and the desire to make guests feel welcome, happy and at ease was too. We had a lovely meal in large part thanks to the... More

Was in Malta for one week with my wife for her birthday. The receptionist at the hotel i was in recommended this local restaurant "gozitan" which later on that night i was approached by this wonderful and very nice FoH or head waiter named Gordon which he explained the traditional food they had. once we sat down to our table... Before writing this, I read through some of the recent reviews, particularly the bad ones and really find it hard when diners write damning reviews based on personal taste. First off, I'd like comment on the complimentary bread (which is more than fantastic) and the condiments. The little pot of tomato paste is NOT ketchup, it is a paste made... More

The guy behind the bar at our hotel recommend this place as good local food. I'm a super fussy eater so a lot of places put me off if I don't have something simple I can order as a back up. The complimentary homemade bread was amazing, the little pot of butter was good the tomato paste a bit strange... More

Sunday lunch and the restaurant was very busy but we managed to find a table. Service was very prompt and friendly and the menu was full of typical Maltese dishes. I went for the rabbit stew while my wife had the octopus which was very well cooked and tender. Good selection of local food and wines at reasonable prices in... More

Some of the best (and certainly better value) restaurants in St Julians are away from the waterfront and this is certainly one of them. We ate here twice, enjoying dishes such as lamb, suckling pig and mussels - dishes apparently originated from Gozo. All very well presented and cooked. Service was good on both visits for us but as the... More

Just had a meal here, service excellent and food was really lovely. Portions are very large so I couldn't finish my rabbit stew! Very reasonably priced and front of house gentleman was very helpful and knowledgeable!

My husband had found this hotel as we both wanted to try some traditional cuisine. The restaurant was popular with the locals which at the beginning we agreed was a good sign. I have to agree with another person’s comment on here that indeed the butter which is served with the bread does taste like a pot of ketchup. I... More

Looking forward to some traditional food. The person on the street outside made it sound excellent but it went downhill from there. Very basic menu and though the food was well cooked it felt like the ingredients and presentation didn't fit. I had octopus which was cooked perfectly but the oil had an after taste and the accompanying potatoes (I... More
