Really nice place with good food

Visited with colleagues for dinner in the evening. I visited this restaurant last year ams enjoyed the meal and this time had another really good experience. Service was prompt and friendly and restaurant is nice inside. I had the Lutefisk which was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed, the rest of the party also enjoyed their food Will definitely visit again

Gamlavaerket offers mixed experiences when it comes to food. Sometimes the quality is good, sometimes food is not good at all. You never know if you will get lucky..

Rude and slow service

My husband and I popped into Emanuel’s Plass cafe in Gamleværket for lunch today. We ordered 2 prawn sandwiches and were told it would take max 10 minutes. Half an hour later there was still no sign of them. Spoke with 4 different members of staff who all promised to “check” where they were. One young girl was pretty rude, saying what did we expect, they were in the middle of their Xmas party rush! A simple apology would have been nice, and maybe a free coffee while we continued to wait would have been a nice gesture. The sandwiches eventually turned up after 40 minutes. So if you’re planning on eating here, make sure you have plenty of time and don’t expect much in the way of customer service.

absolutely loves it

I came to Norway as a little holiday by myself, I visited prekestoelen first and after the hike u was craving a cappuccino. I walked past this place and felt invited straight away, especially due to the cozy feeling of the fire. The staff is amazing, I wasn’t sure what to order and they mentioned this Norwegian cake (forgot the name) and had a cappuccino. Would for sure visit this place again when I visit Norway.

Below average festive dinner

The May 17 festive dinner was disappointing. The creamed asparagus soup was porridge rather than soup. The wine package contained a poor quality dessert wine with artificial sweetness. The whipped cream on the dessert buffet was buttery. I would forgive one mishap, but three are a bit too much. I have had much better food experiences at Gamlaværket earlier.

Helt perfekt!

No problem at all! We ordered a room for two as our 2 boys usually sleep with us in the bed but I was pleasantly surprised coming to a clean, tidy, nrwly renovated room with 4beds! Each of us had a bed and it was comfort ing after a long travel and tiring day. Breakfast was great with wide selection of pålegg, soft bread, croissant.. several choices for cereals, yoghurt, smoothies, etc... I enjoyed my morning meal. Staff were very accomodations and friendly. Location is perfect ly situated i the centrum..just across the train station! Highly recommend!

Ok taste but service almost zero

The meat tasted good but service was way low. How many mistakes can be done in one serving, many obviously. Errors and misses. Send those waiters back to schooling. This was not 1-2 misses. A visit to a restaurant should have something extra, service, experiences. We are not coming back for more company dinners.

Good place with good service

I very much enjoyed my time there. Fish soup excellent and superb pork confit!!!! The desert (tarte tatin) was below the meal.... but the confit was this good.... 5 stars well deserved!!! Also the différents waitresses were all professional and efficient. Thanks for the good night

Lovely old hotel with excellent food

lovely place at the heart of Sandnes, with some delicious food. Came here for a work event, and really enjoyed the spot. Extra pluss that it is close to the train station so it is easy to get around.

Very good food again

We were very welcome, and guided to our table, the 4 of us selebrating 75 years birthday. The food was serveds perfectly and wine were very excellent, a Valpollicella. We had 2 inner fillet, one Brisket av storfe, and one Redbeet steak (vegeratrian) The Irish coffe for dessert was perfect, an Strawberry sorbet too. Can recommend all of it, but it costs, and of cause we knew that. The wine was kr 525 for one bottle. The waiter was a bit slow for when we needed him/her we had two, for exstra wine and the dessert, as we had a pause between the meals.

Happy previous visits in mind I checked in again. Not as before, no request would I like to pay a little for an upgrade? No welcome, just the key and directions. The biggest disappointment was the room, facing directly the railway stn where train kept passing long into the night, and a nearby disco was blasting. Will never stay on that side again Breakfast: had to wait for this and that, applw juice jug was empty and not refilled. Dinner was really good though and made up for some. I love the interior of the hotel, reception, restarant and shop areas.

Attractive Decor with Good Food

We ate dinner with a family group. I had fish while my wife had a ceasar dinner salad. We were seated in a covered outdoor area that was very pleasant and attractive. The service was very good and the food arrived quickly. The restaurant is located on a pedestrian only street.
