I came here last month and had coffee and waffles. The waffles were to die for. My waffle was topped with sour cream and homemade raspberry jam, which was soooo good. Well worth a visit for the waffles alone, never mind the view! Talking of the view, it really was stunning.

A true paradise sat on the banks of Hugsfjord. Steeped in history this tranquil location boasts the best Norwegian Waffles and coffee. With crystal clear glacial water, traditional buildings, it is one of those places to sit and live in the moment. Absolutly wonderful.

Visited the 'Sandes' as a part of an excursion from our Cruise ship. A delightful secluded spot overlooking a fjord full of original wooden buildings. Waffles and coffee included in the visit. The highlight of the visit was a talk by the young lady whose family have lived in the site over time. A real insight into the life they led. The scenery is striking and well worth a visit.

Lunch in a tranquil and quaint rural setting - this was the ideal spot to enjoy the scenery with a polse (hot dog) and fiskesuppe from the farm-house style eatery. We stopped here before going to the Lauvvik ferry. The upstairs has a small selection of gift items such as troll-themed packaged napkins or hand-made soaps. You'll have to open the gate on the rural road yourself, but that makes it more interesting.

We went to Bakers Paradise on a coach trip, we were greeted with coffee and delicious freshly prepared waffles, we were told some history about the area, which was fascinating, we then had free time to explore the picturesque surroundings!

We visited the outstandingly beautiful Bakers Paradise as part of an excursion from Stravanger & what an absolutely delightful place it was, the sun was shining which showed it in it’s full glory, we enjoyed a Norwegian waffle also but beware of the Troll 😉 the patrons were very welcoming & gave us all an insight to the background of the place, the only issue was we had to leave there far too soon, highly recommend a visit.

Visited last night with my work. Arrived by boat from Stavanger and was greeted with bubbles on arrival. Lovely campfire pans and sitting places for some mingling before dinner near the water. Very good shrimps for dinner and Norwegian panna cotta (Fløterand) for dessert.
Will highly recommend for a Sunday trip with family for a coffee and a cake, or birthday celebration, work party etc.
We all loved it.

You have to look carefully for the small lane to the right and turn off before the ferry. We were there with grand daughter 4 yr. Perfect place for a 4 year old, parents & grandparents on a sunny Sunday. We had coffee, cake & ice cream. Not gourmet, just good. We sat inside but the outside tables were full of people. The area was well kept & clean and staff friendly. Our visit was to enjoy the atmosphere with our grand daughter. I'd rate that with a 5 and will visit again. Be careful when leaving the small lane and driving onto the road. Traffic from the left can be fast with cars trying to catch the ferry.

It’s a really really lovely place to go with the kids. Lots of toys for them and a place to swim.
The cafe is pretty and cosy but it is just a cafe with sweet pastry really, so don’t turn up starving for a big meal. I had the spekeskinke and brownie, both where very good.
Nice staff too.
We will definitely return with more family members.

We arrived when it was closed, but a young couple were cleaning and tidying up the place.
We did not want to intrude, but without us asking, they offered us some cookies, some coffee and gave us the keys to a house down by the sea so we could relax with our kids.
And did not even charge us, they were just very hospitable. Thank you so much, it meant a lot to us, and was very hospitable of you.

We had coffee and very nice waffles here on a picture perfect day. The sun was shining. It was warm. The lake was calm and just beautiful. Loved it. It was fun meeting the troll too!

We stopped for lunch on our way to Sandnes and the food was delicious. We had a soup and sandwich and both were filling and fresh. The views from each direction as great, it really makes for a relaxing environment to eat and chat. We came with a 3 month old and everyone was friendly and welcoming which was much appreciated.

Next to the Lauvik-Oanes ferry and easily reachable by boat is this lovely tea room/coffee shop, located in an old farmhouse and with plenty of country charm. Good coffee and pastries, lefser were a bit disappointing. Upstairs gift shop offers nicely curated selection of stylish souvenirs and decor.

Dear AstridGO
Thank you for rating us at tripadvisor.
Really nice too hear that you enjoyed your visit at Bakernes Paradis. Expecially nice to hear that you liked our old farmhouse. This hous was actially built in the early 1800s. Apart from lifting 1/3 of the roof in the middle, the house stands as it did at that time.
Thank you for recommending us. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Best regard

Lukewarm coffee, mediocre waffles, empty tables that were not available (reserved, but no guests in sight during our stay) and disinterested staff. Not value for money.

Dear Dagnikolai,
Thank you very much for your feedback, we appreciate it.
It is very regrettable to read about their experience with us. This is obviously totally unacceptable and we are sorry for the experience you are left with.
I will follow up on this internally to find out how we managed to differ from our routines and general guest treatment.
However, I hope that we will get the opportunity to correct your impression in the future, and do not hesitate to let us know if we can help you in any way.
With best regards
