My wife and I had our last vacation breakfast here. It was very good, with the eggs cooked perfectly over easy. Service was great too.

The family and I have been dining here for more than 30 years. We try to get there at least twice a week during our week of vacation. From the time my kids were toddlers and now into their late 20's they have always enjoyed...to food and atmosphere that kelleys has to offer. It nothing fancy but the food is always fresh and their staff is always pleasant. We are already planing our 2020 visit!!More
Been going here for years, it never fails to please. great seafood selections. Not at all fancy (cash only), there is counter service or table service. Pleasant people. Spare air conditioning, so don't go on a really hot day. The bathroom is ancient. Look ahead...foir hours of operation. Sometimes they are closed at the end of the season.More
Friendly service, warm and inviting. We go every time we visit the island. After meal we go out back to visit the lighthouse “Barney”. Boats go in and out to ocean. Beautiful to watch. Of course, if up to it, you can climb to top...of Barney. Water pic is scene as you walk along path along the Inlet. 💕More
For many years my family owned a home on Barnegat Light. We went back to visit and when young always had to go to Kelly's for ice cream. This time we went for lunch with friends and our server was friendly and attentive. We all...enjoyed our meals though one suggested the roll could have been fresher or toasted.More
We ate at Kelly’s after spending the day wandering around the island and ending up at the lighthouse. The food was very good and the service was great. From the broiled seafood platter to the fried chicken, everyone in our group really enjoyed everything we...had. The New England clam chowder was fantastic, and how can you go wrong ending your meal with Dairy Queen?More
When visiting the Barnegat Lighthouse, this is a pretty good spot for lunch depending on what you select. The hits were: the crab cakes, the caesar salad with a delicious, moist broiled salmon and the spinach salad with fresh tuna. Things to skip are the...clam chowders: hardly any clams, over seasoned, and not pleasant in consistency. We were there on a Monday and it was busy but we were to get a table for 10 without much of a wait. The restaurant looks as if it has not been updated for ages but that adds to its charm. The waitstaff was very friendly and steered us through the menu. When tuna was ordered well done: it arrived well dine and Moist. I think timing is everything. If there is a line out the door, move on. Ice cream bar on site.More
So here I am at the end of the island - looking for lunch. Read the reviews kind of knew what I was expecting - Thought why not I’m here. Very friendly wait staff and pleasant end of the line old school fishing decor. Ordered...the Clam chowder - soup was hot, I like that - However the over potatoey- gluey consistency turned me off. I also ordered the Flounder plate - Flounder was good if a bit too breaded- Fries were not edible as was the Cole slaw too thick and over sauced. In summary pleasant atmosphere- nice wait staff - average run of the mill fried fish shack food. 3 Tums lunch. Make a plan - don’t do it for the sake of doing itMore
I love this spot for Dairy Queen on a summer day or night, but they need to get their act together. The wait is ridiculous and the staff works in slow motion as the lines get longer.
Went there for lunch this past week. To say were disappointed is an understatement. Its usually very good but for some reason, this time everything was wrong. Service was slow (and it wasn't that busy), kitchen was disorganized (so was just about everything else), and...the portions were very small and not great. chef salad has two slices or turkey and one piece of ham, very thin and the rest was all salad greens in a small plate. actually, it was the size of a side salad at most every other restaurant. the fried clam platter was very small, both in quantity of clam strips but more so the the size of the clam strips themselves. most were little chunks of mostly breading with a few small strips of clams. NOT the usual platter. too bad because its usually a very good place but we will have to find alternatives.More
Loaded with charm, and fairly good food, a great bet for breakfast or lunch. nice people, bathroom is awful.
Well what else should you do for breakfast, lunch, or dinner when you are in Barnegat Light? Head to KELLY'S, its a family run, (from Frank and Michelle, to Ryan (the cook+) Christen, and even the grandchildren are helping out learning the business. Breakfast of...the patio overlooking the lighthouse is great, lots of choices and good omelettes. Lunch and dinner can now be enjoyed in AIR CONDITIONING! on those hot days. Creative wraps and specials every night as well as music some weekend evenings. Beachy no nonsense decor and not a gourmet place but good food friendly! Have a DQ ice cream after dinner since its attached! FUN for all ages.More
I have to mention again that this place looks really tiny on the outside and doesn't do them justice at all. When I tell people about it, that is the first thing I say. Ignore the outside. They are combined with a Dairy Queen and...the front of the building is very deceiving. Inside, it is decorated with lighthouses and beach decor. Gets great lighting and has outdoor seating as well out back. Great air condition if it's hot out. Servers were all really nice. Has a counter if you want to go with that kind of seating. We ate their for dinners and one breakfast. My son got the Mexican Burrito omelet and that looked good (great portion size). Great burgers, dinners, and steak sandwiches. I would not recommend the club sandwich unless they start putting mayo or a dressing on it but another time, I would just ask for mayo. Excellent location too, right next to the Lighthouse.More
The special chowder (Manhattan style) tastes suspiciously like a minestrone soup. We could not find any clams in there. The New England style chowder was thin and too salty. Even the oyster crackers were stale (not crunchy). Tried the crab cake platter. The slaw was...good. Everything else was meh! The oil used for the fries and crab cakes tasted burnt. Service was so-so. Three of us, walked to a part of the bar that had three stools and they told us that it wasn’t a good place to sit!! So we snuggled into a spot meant for two (and dragged our own stool). We won’t be back.More
This place has been around forever so we thought it would be good-Glad we tried it but we won’t be returning. Cute outdoor seating in back and kid friendly.
