The cuisine is good, the main course served on a board and "newsprint" is fun, if only the fashion for cinnamon sprinkled on top of cappuccino would go away... (Or at least I'd be asked if I'd like to spoil the taste of my coffee...with cinnamon.)More
We spent a few days at Egerzalok and we came here a couple of times. Food is not just good, they go the extra mile. Classic Hungarian dishes but with a nice twits. Place is nice, service is great and the price really affordable. You...should definitely visit it when im Egerzalok.More

I never intended on going here. I was just staying nearby and bored, so I looked up a restaurant and walked over with my family. Glad that we did! Some of the best food we've had in Hungary. I forget the name of the dish,...but I had the stew inside a bowl made of bread, and the cheese dumplings for dessert. Highly recommended.More

Cosy atmosphere & delicious hungarian cuisines with a twist! We had the salmon tatar for a starter, pretty spicy but yummy, the portion could even be a main course in some places Then came the zander filet with ‘túrós csusza’ ~ pasta with cottage cheese…...it was a lovely new version of the old traditional ‘harcsapaprikas’. Very tasty! The fried cheese wasn’t a letdown either, fresh and crunchy, perfectly balanced with the mashed potatoes and truffle-mayo! The crown jewel was the ‘túró gombóc’ ~ cottage cheese balls with sweet and citrusy cream on the side… the best treat at the end of the day! 5/5More

I had an amazing dinner with my family, we ordered pickled mix, duck and horse's liver. Everything was super delicious. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is really cozy. Prices are more like in Budapest.
This is the most recommended restaurant in town, menu is simple ans short with delicious meals. Staff is professional, this place is a true treasure here!

If you want to try traditional Hungarian flavours with a modern twist in Egerszalok, Piroska restaurant is the place to go. I had a much tastier reinterpreted Hungarian casserole than at one of Eger's trendy restaurants.
We chose the restaurant based on previous reviews and we were satisfied. Pleasant sitting and service. We received a light snack right after the order - homemade bread with herb butter and we were better off waiting for the main course. Excellent food, wonderful interior and very nice staff. The food was delicious, you should definitely try the mushroom cream soup.
