The vegetarian food was disappointing. They offered to make me a omelet for dinner, really an omelet? I ended up with smashed potatoes and a tiny bit of ratatouille, which was okay. In 2020 every restaurant should have multiple vegetarian options. The staff was nice...but the fact that they ran up and down the terrace was stressful for the guests and unnecessary.More

I have tasted the chicken of Bresse "the speciality of the restaurant". Even covered by the sauce, it was dry and really not tasty. what's a pity!!!! In addition, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was tense among the waiters. Honestly, despite a very nice location,...I would not recommend the restaurant even it is supposed to be supported by a very famous cooker!More

I loved it and will definitely go back. Combination of lovely smily staff, with great taste of food and the best view to amazing sunset made my experience memorable.

Overlooking the Saone River, this is a perfect location for a relaxing meal. Diverse menu of delicious local foods and a great wine selection too.

We pre-booked this restaurant for a lunchtime meal and therefore were able to reserve a table on the terrace. It's a lovely setting which really enhances the atmosphere. We opted for the Menu du Marché which seems to change daily. Our choices were delicious and...we came away feeling very satisfied. The mainly young staff were all lovely and helpful and our overall experience was excellent.More

The problem with service being included is that there is no way of demonstrating dissatisfaction unless you actually complain. This is a beautiful Riverside restaurant serving excellent food but last night we ordered 4 aperitif, 1 was sent back as we had ordered cremant and...a martini turned up. This took a while to correct. Starters arrived but no bread. Main courses arrived but no vegetables. Second bottle of wine arrived before we decided which one we wanted but second bottle of water took ages. The food was good as was the wine and I would have given 5 stars had the service been better.More

Setting is beautiful, pleasant service, good cuisine, very good value! Not much else for km's around, so all in it makes for a Perfect stop for lunch.

I feel the restaurant has taken its foot off the gas pedal. Now we had an excellent meal here last time. But last Friday didn't match up. The staff - the manageress was excellent, without her I fear the meal would have lasted 2 hours...longer, and one or two other staff members were also very good - but the rest were sleep walking, girls carrying plates asking tables if the food was for them, needing to wave to get attention, the list goes on. This is a restaurant that is part of the Georges Blanc stable of restaurants and puts out its Michelin stars as a point of reference (L'Embarcadere has no stars) but this has become tired and is now a backwater out of the main stream - I fear Georges and his trusty team have ignored this - they need to apply some time and effort to bring this back up to scratch. I had the menu "Clin d’œil de Saison" (a wink to the season) but I'm not sure what season it referred to - not summer. In summary, expensive mixed service and off the boil. For the wheelchair user - it's accessible.More

Food was great - we went for the 31 EUR menu. Hippolite and Shannon did great however it was clear that 2 staff were not enough. Summer is exceptional there.

I was a bit disappointed. The service is correct but not more. The food is not bad but not tastefull ; on its way to being boring. Additionally, the meals are not cheap ! They serve a lot of tables, it's almost industrial. I would...not recommend.More

We stayed overnight at a chateau in a village nearby. The owner recommended this restaurant and made a reservation for us. The restaurant is nicely located on the bank of the Saône. We were friendly welcomed by the staff and were given a table overlooking...the river. The food was good. I thought the drinks were quite expensive. € 5 for a glass of Coca Cola and € 4 for a small cup of tea? I would expect such prices in Paris not in this area.More

Travelling in Bourgougne and going south through Beaujolais you may well stop at this nice restaurant situated on the bank of Saône in Jassans-Riottier just opposite of the town Villefranche-sur-Saône. Both the terass and the inside is spacious, yet intimate. Modern interior with some style....Terass perfect in the summer by the river. The cooking is very good; a chef with ambition using fine raw materials. And both the fixed menu and the a la carte is great value. We had lovely quenelles de brochet and a creamy chicken. Service is prompt and kind. Rather small but well chosen wine list. Recommended! Quality = nearly 4 (out of 5) My rating = 4 (out of 5 and considering the level of quality)More

A somewhat limited menu but very good raw materials used. The fixed price menu very good value. What really made it stand out were the staff who could not have been more welcoming to a solo traveller who had not booked. Being solo enabled me...to watch the waiting staff in action. They were superbly trained.More

We caught this restaurant on a Sunday night in August, when the staff seemed mostly the B team. Service was breathakingly slow and forgetful. With a bill of several hundred euros, being asked to settle at the cashier, rather than having the check brought to...the table, seemed thoughtless. Food was, on balance, very good, although some dishes tried too hard and didn't hit the target (e.g., the ceviche of fish and meat). Main dishes were creative and well presented. I had the frogs' legs, which were plentiful and served extra hot in two separate demi-portions. Wine prices are fair and selection good. The location is marvelous, and the view of the river is excellent. However, after dark every light seems to shine directly into diners' eyes instead of providing indirect ambient atmosphere.More
